WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY – Feb.28, 2015

Set Captives Free Ministries was overjoyed to worship with about 50 women (8 new) at West Central. Praise and music was wholeheartedly embraced by all.

Pastor Kevin spoke on "Stuck on the Side of the Road" based on Mark 10:46 - 52; the story of Blind Bartimaeus. Kevin pointed out that Bartimaeus' father was a prominent citizen and that every flaw in the son was quickly related to the father.

In our lives, we cannot live up to the expectations of others, and if we try, will end up like Bartimaeus - stuck in one moment of time while people and life change and leave us behind. But Bartimaeus recognized the opportunity to change - and so can we through these steps:

1) He listened to Jesus and "Faith came by hearing (Romans 10:17).

2) He loudly and repeatedly sought Jesus' attention...just like a child to his father. He ignored people wanting to shut him up. When we talk about Jesus, many times undesirable folks will move away from us and give us room to get to God.

3) When Jesus called for him, Bartimaeus cast off all his old rags and came truthfully & with an expectation of positive change. We MUST let go of our past to receive a new future.

4) Jesus asks what we want to receive and we must SPEAK it into God's will. We must continue to believe even if time goes by and no answer is in our view. We have to see it as complete and trust God to bring it to reality.

5) Bartimaeus received his sight and "followed in the Way" of Jesus. We must also follow the way of Jesus in our daily life and behaviors and not let others hold us back from being His children.

About 8 women came forward to pray for salvation and most came to pray for sight and healing as a group. About 10 women were leaving the facility this week and we, especially, hold them in our prayers.
