Wayne and Julia Smith joined 28 ladies for a time of praise and worship and sharing the Word. The service got a late start due to some issues at the facility and then technical problems, but finally Julia was able to open the service. She asked the ladies, "Would you try cooking without first lighting the stove? Try driving a car without first starting the engine? Turn on a lamp that's not plugged in? No, that would be putting the horse before the cart, right? What does Isa. 56:7, Mark 11:17, Matt. 21:13, and Luke 19:46 call God's House? A House of Prayer." Read More...

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Nov. 1, 2015

We joined the men at Macon TC for Sunday morning service. After a time of praise and worship, Wayne showed the Ghana documentary video of Lions Gate on their trip in September.

It's amazing to think that such a great number of people in the world have never heard of Christ.

Acts 12:1-17
There are a lot of guards around Peter. It's the night before he is getting ready to die and he is sleeping. In fact he was sleeping so deeply that the angel had to hit him in the side to get his attention. The chains dropped off, he walked right past the guards and the gate opened. He went to the house of Mary where they were praying for him.
What would have happened if the chains had fallen off and he still sat there? How foolish what that have been? Yet we do that in America today. Jesus died for our sins and broke all those chains yet we still sit in sin.

We sing about our chains being broken, yet are we really free?

We have 6,600 people groups around the world who have never heard of Jesus, yet we sit here in our affluence and "stuff" and don't even care about all of those people destined for hell. If we love God and believe He is coming back, how can we just sit here doing nothing.

We often think we need a lot to help, but we don't. We have to have the love and desire.

If we really have a desire for God, we don't want His Name tarnished. When we get saved, we're not perfect, but it's a walk we're constantly on. We want to draw closer to Him all the time.

When you are constantly seeking to pull others into the Kingdom of God, you won't want to tarnish His Name and you won't end up back in here.

Matt 7:21 - many will cry Lord, Lord but will not enter in because they did not do the will of the Father.

Remember when you had your first date? You wanted to tell everyone. But we don't do that with Christ. So many people put on the "wedding ring" on Sunday morning when they go to church, but take it off the rest of the week.
You have children in your family .... in your neighborhood ... who look up to you. You can make a difference in their life. It's time we grow up. Make a difference so those children will not end up in here. This place is a "wake up" call for you. God is "hitting you in the side." It's time to get those chains off and time to walk out.

Wayne told them that he had some beautiful cars and a beautiful home, but that word is "had." All he has today are some pictures and doesn't have the money he spent on it. Nothing to show for it. If he had used that money for the Kingdom of God, it would have made such a difference.

There was a lot of interaction with the men and discussion. One of the guys brought up that he felt led to talk to the young guys here at MTC. Before he only thought about what he's going to do when he gets out, but now he wants to tell others about Christ.

One of the men asked to play "Break Every Chain" again, which we did, and then closed in prayer.

SERVICES AT WEST CENTRAL AND MACON TC FOR JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST.

My apologies to everyone! I have not kept up with the postings of the services due to some health issues and other matters. I am trying to post some of the older services that I have notes for, but most of the notes sent to me did not have a date for the services the notes were for. I am not going to be able to back post most of the services. I will do better from now on. I truly apologize that I did not keep everyone updated on the services. I hope you will understand.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - Sept. 5, 2015

Pastor Elizabeth Smith went to West Central ITF to worship with 36 amazing ladies. We started out with prayer and then praise and worship each praising God in her own way. I then ministered to the ladies on Micah 7:7-8 with the emphasis being on waiting on God, trusting that He's got you in the palm of His hand and has everything under control. He is an on-time God - never late. Also, keeping our confession of faith and when we stumble (fall), we get right back up. The sin is not in the "stumble" - the sin is in not getting up; staying down in the pigpen of sin. There was a lot of interaction with the ladies and, if you say to them now "when I fall....." they will reply "I shall arise!!!" It was an amazing service and every lady came up front for prayer saying they are tired of falling. There was also one decision for Christ. Praise God for His Word!

DAY OF BREAKTHROUGH

What an amazing day we had with the men at Emanuel PDC in Twin City, GA. I want to thank my amazing team for their dedication and their desire to see these men's lives changed. They poured themselves out like a "drink offering" as you will be able to see from these photos. Unfortunately we were not able to get pictures of everything, but hopefully the video will show more when Wayne is able to put it together.

We had amazing music by The Elijah Project with Michael Cornett ministering to the men, moving testimonies by Thomas Simmons, David Payton, Gary Wright, Wayne Smith, Chris Schanter and Jodi Fraser. Jodi's testimony touched hearts so greatly that she got a standing ovation and we appreciate so much her pouring out her heart to those men.

There were four powerful skits "Turn Around" and "The Puppet Master" as well as two written by the Skit Guys "The Chisel" and "The Birdcage".

We had special music and a testimony by Mary Simmons, a beautiful song "Because of Who You Are" by Heather Payton and the men were truly blessed with the voice of Darshan Nicole Hawkes singing some of the songs that she wrote.

Pastor Lance delivered a powerful message that brought the majority of the men in the yard to the "altar." At the close of the day the men heard another powerful message by Kevin Humphery and the "altar" was full again with men weeping before God!

The team spent most of the day out in the yard ministering one-on-one to the men and praying with them.
I truly believe it was the BEST day yet! God is so AMAZING, INDESCRIBABLE!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - April 25, 2015

God made his presence felt as 25 women (5 new) from West Central and Set Captives Free Ministries worshiped together with song, prayer, and Bible study. Everyone was touched by the music selected. Pastor Elizabeth Smith followed up on last week’s study on "Moving Forward from Abuse and Hurt" taught by Pastor Wayne Smith. She discussed how to seek God’s guidance regarding dysfunctional relationships as women grow in Christ. Sheila Stover spoke on finding the root of emotional pain that prevents us from moving forward in our lives. Pastor Kevin Humphery thanked Elizabeth and Sheila for preaching his sermon, then proceeded with the 2nd part of his sermon on Breaking Generational Curses based on 1 Kings 17:17-24.

Last week, we learned that the widow was asked to put God’s will first. When she began to comply, strength and resources were made available to save herself and her son from the famine. This correlates to belief in God not empowered by the Holy Spirit because we do not put God first and act on His instructions. We, thereby, doom ourselves AND OUR FAMILIES to POVERTY of spirit and deny them PROOF of God’s POWER to CHANGE.

The story continues with Elijah living in the upstairs room of the widow’s home and all 3 people eating well on the flour and oil provided by God. Suddenly, adversity hits hard! The widow’s son becomes sick, and stops breathing. She turns to Elijah, ANGRILY, and asks if God is allowing this to happen because of HER PAST SINS. Elijah simply asks her to surrender her child to him, and thereby, to GOD. After a moment, she hands the child to Elijah who takes him to the UPPER ROOM and petitions God 3 times to save the son of the woman who put God first BEFORE THE PROMISE OF SUPPORT. God honors the faith of the widow.

God gives us all the opportunity to have a relationship with HIM through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Every chain can be BROKEN by our CHOICE to accept God’s offer. We can then address our GENERATIONAL CURSES: addictions, abuse of all kinds, mental illness, and poverty. “HOW?”, we cry out to God.

When Elijah asked for the son’s breathless body, the widow immediately worried about HER PAST SINS! By repeating the instruction to turn the child over to GOD, he teaches us that curses can only be broken when we GET OUT OF THE WAY and let God work. No one wants to see their child committing the same sins they did. However, curses can be BROKEN by one generation CHANGING and turning their lives and their children’s lives over to GOD, the Father of all. Accept change inside yourself. Create an UPPER ROOM where you can focus on the Father/child relationship you have with God. Then you will feel comfortable asking for help when adversity strikes. You can then be there for your children in a new and wonderful way.

The service ended with almost everyone coming forward and praying for God to break the family curses by changing the hearts and minds of HIS CHILDREN. It was an amazing service.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - April 19, 2015

We had an amazing service at Macon TC with the men. After a great time of praise and worship, Wayne ministered on "How Not to Go Back." He shared statistics on how many percentage wise will probably return to prison. The text was Matt. 12:38-45. He told the men that most people have a fear that they will return to their old ways. In this scripture the spirit in Great stands for moral rationale.

This scripture talks about a clean man, a man who confessed his sins and "cleaned his house." The evil or sinful spirit left. This spirit in the original Greek represents moral rationale (not demon possession).

The Queen of Sheba sacrificed TIME to go see King Solomon. When we give our lives to God, our time is HIS! Wayne read John 15:1-8 about abiding in the Vine. We MUST abide in Christ; not be a casual Christian.

Then he read Matt. 13:22-23. This represents those who have heard the Word but are too thick in the world so unfruitful. Those who received in a good heart are productive.

I Cor. 9:24-27 - The prize represents the souls we win to Christ.

We give our time in study and ministering of God's Word (mentor).

Psalms 1:1-2: Meditate in God's Word.

The Queen of Sheba also packed her camels with wealth. She was willing to give up her wealth. The second way is one of the hardest. When you have your needs met, meet the needs of others to bring them in.

The clean man did not abide in the Vine. He was swept clean but didn't give it all to Christ.

Devote your life to the service of God: time and money.

The last 1/2 hour was spent in discussion and prayer.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - April 18. 2015

We held service with 24 amazing ladies. After a time of praise and worship, I gave part of my testimony about the hurt and abuse I experienced from childhood through adulthood. After I gave my testimony, Wayne ministered to the ladies on "How to Move Forward from Abuse and Hurt." He shared statistics on characteristics that abuse victims are most likely to exhibit. He also talked to them about forgiveness. The forgiveness is more for themselves than for the abuser. Once they can begin to forgive and pray for their abuser, God can begin to move in their life to heal. Wayne's message was so heartfelt and touching that I was so busy listening and forgot to take notes, so this is really all I can share. I apologize. I pray this message helped at least one. So many people have been abused emotionally, verbally and physically and it does leave scars that only God can heal!!!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - April 5, 2015

We opened up in prayer and praise and worship. All of the men were standing and participating. The Spirit of God was heavy in the room. We could really feel him.

Wayne ministered on "Truth About Death and Resurrection of Christ" Scriptures included Matt. 12:40 where Jesus said He'd be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights; John 19:31 (Lev. 23:5-7); Luke 23:56 and Mark 15:1-2,9
Wayne explained to them when He actually died according to the Jewish calendar and when He arose which would put Him in the grave 3 days and nights since Jesus did not lie.
Wayne also looked at the cross and talked about why Jesus died for us. Then He talked about the wrath of God for sin and the Passover Lamb. We looked at the contrast and how it all worked together. He talked about Jesus in the Garden and what the cup was the Jesus asked His Father to let pass from Him.
Jesus took the wrath of God on the cross that we deserve so we don't have to. We deserve death but because of Christ, He gives us life!!!!
Wayne gave an altar call and then we closed in prayer.

My notes are very long because it was an amazing message but I condensed it because it would have been a lot to read.

God blessed us with His Spirit as Pastor Elizabeth Smith led 45 beautiful souls (5 new) in song at West Central. The room rang with praise and prayers.

We then played "For Every Mountain" which was signed by Sheila Stover. Women responded with weeping and praising!

"Can You Believe? " was the challenge of Pastor Kevin Humphery to us all. Changing our ENTIRE life and our family's lives starts with "The Battlefield of the Mind." Luke 17:5-6 teaches that prayerful faith requires that we honor and thank God even when we don't see the results we want. Jail is often the answered prayer of someone for a loved one imprisoned by demons of mental illness, drugs, and/or bad decisions. The cleared mind is open to healing. Getting grounded in the Bible keeps guilt and shame from paralyzing us. Moving forward in healing is possible by active belief.

In Mark 9:17-27, a man pleads for Jesus to heal his son from a "mute" spirit that causes havoc in his life. Just like the disciples couldn't heal the son, churches that don't address our needs can't help us grow and, eventually, mentor others. Like the mute son, we don't call out to God for victory over our problems, thereby allowing that evil spirit to stay in charge. The father BELIEVED and ACTED by carrying his son to Jesus.

When newly healed, we need to seek God's mentors to guide us. Repelling the wrong people by calling 911 brings help just like prayer brings grace! (James 2:17-20) Problems and pain from childhood, left untreated, cause us to escape through substance abuse and destructive behaviors. Letting Jesus cast out the old demons and leaving them in our past is the medicine our souls need to heal so we can share our experiences. God's glory shining through us begins the healing of our families as well. Many people gave up on us as "good as dead" or "worthless", but when Jesus raises us in His Spirit to stand for Him day by day, His Purpose and Glory are a living testimony that "WE CAN BELIEVE". Amen and Amen!

We closed in prayer with the ladies to help their unbelief. It was a great service!

It is always great, but it was "over the top!" The ladies came front in waves expressing their love for God ... crying, praising, praying individually and for each other and kneeling before the Lord. The Holy Spirit was so heavy in the room.

Wayne then opened with Matthew 12:43-45 and the parable of Swept Clean and Empty.

After a great time of praise and worship, Wayne opened with Acts 28:3-10 and looked at how Paul was bit by a snake. Figuring that was a pretty bad day, in and of itself, they backed up to Acts 27:39 and looked at how, just before the snake bite, Paul was involved in a shipwreck.

Forty-six (46) amazing women joined Set Captives Free Ministries for worship. The praise during music was fabulous. Many ladies knelt and cried out to God and prayed for themselves and each other. Kevin Humphery and Sheila Stover were there to minister to them.

Kevin asked this question, "What will YOU do?" based on the parable of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37. A man asked Jesus how to "inherit eternal life." Jesus started by finding out what the man thought about the subject. Jesus always meets us where we are in our life's journey.

SERVICES THIS SATURDAY

I'm not able to go to West Central this weekend. I'm going to miss my ladies but I'm thankful that Kevin Humphery and Sheila Olmsted Stover are covering the service. My doctor said that I need to take care of my back and he doesn't feel it would be wise for me to ride that far in a car. He said I would "pay for it" Saturday night and Sunday (if not longer). For once I'm going to listen. I'm tired of hurting.

Our team of Kevin Humphery, Sheila Stover and Elizabeth Smith went to WCITF to worship with 26 precious ladies. We had video praise and worship and the ladies really got into the worship coming up front to kneel down in "waves." Sheila ministered to the ladies on something God had laid upon her heart. Kevin ministered from Luke 17:11-19 on the 10 lepers. His message was titled "Thankful." Out of the 10 lepers, only one came back totally thankful to Jesus. He wanted to follow Jesus, but Jesus told him to "go" and show himself to the leaders in the Temple. Kevin brought the message down to "where the ladies live" and concluded with "do you want to hear God say 'go'?" Eight ladies came up for salvation/rededication.

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

If Jesus were on earth today, would we find Him in the prisons, talking and dining with the most loathed criminals and outcasts? Of course we would. He would be there “to seek and to save the lost” and to restore them to sonship. Read about God’s heart toward the prisoner. He tells us in Heb. 13:3 - "Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself." Matthew 25:36, 40 - “I was in prison and you came to visit me … I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Our team of Kevin Humphery, Sheila Stover and Elizabeth Smith went to WCITF to worship with 39 precious ladies. One of our ladies was going home in a few days so she offered to open in prayer. We had video praise and worship and the ladies really got into the worship coming up front to kneel down in "waves." It was followed by Sheila signing to "For Every Mountain" which was very moving. Women were crying all over the room (including me).

Kevin ministered on "I Am Not What They Call Me" using passages from Acts 1:7-8; Heb. 10:15-19; I Cor. 2:12-13; Acts 8L1-6. He essentially was letting the ladies know that it doesn't matter what people have said about them or what they have been told growing up, etc. They are not what people have told them they are ... they are who God says they are. Every woman in the room came up for the altar service.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL? PLEASE HELP

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF one of these men we are ministering to would be your brother, your son, your father, your husband or just a loved one??? Not everyone who is locked up are "hardened criminals" .... a lot of the incarcerated just made a very bad choice and are paying the consequences. How many of us have made bad choices but just didn't get caught?? We want to bring a little cheer to some men who cannot be home for Christmas. We are a small ministry and everything we get all year either from others or by our own donations goes strictly to ministering to those "behind wire" and even to the homeless and less fortunate in the community. Right now we are focusing on our Christmas bags for the incarcerated, but if any is left over in this fund, it will go to help the less fortunate for Christmas. Any donations are tax deductible. Please pray about helping Set Captives Free Ministries. No amount is too small ... it all "adds up" and will help.

Please Help Give Christmas to Inmates

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are coming into the hardest time of the year to be away from family. Prison ministry is very expensive and so few care. I hear over and over again ... they are getting what they deserve. Why should we help them.

Not all inmates are hardened criminals but made very bad choices that had consequences. Is there anyone on here who has not made bad choices?? Please remember that it is not about where they have been, but where they are going. We want them to know that there is life after crime when they turn their life over to Christ!

We opened up with praise and worship with 32 amazing ladies. The Spirit of the Lord moved through the room. Then Wayne did a “one man” skit about “My Life” which was truly inspired showing how the Lord wants the keys to our life even though we try to do it “My Way.” We need to allow Him to be in the driver’s seat.

He then went into Question and Answer time starting off with the first question “How do I hear God?” The questions came like popcorn after that. It was an awesome time “reasoning the Word together.”

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY – November 8, 2014

Wayne and Julia went to West Central and ministered to 23 ladies. They opened up with praise and worship and then Wayne had “Fun Night” …. Talking about some facts and then question and answer time.

He talked about Halloween, the origin and what it really means. He also talked about Easter and Christmas origins. With Christmas he talked more about what it has become today. He also used the illustration of walking on a beam and we don’t want to take chances but hold on for dear life trying to be safe; not doing anything for God.

Unfortunately he only had time for two questions: How do you know false prophets and where did caveman come from? He plans to continue questions and answers next week.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER – November 1, 2014

Wayne, Julia and I went to MTC to hold the Sunday morning service. I played two songs on video praise and worship and then Stephen sang some praise music. After the praise and worship, . Wayne continued his series on Angels, Demons and Spiritual Warfare. This morning’s message was Spiritual Warfare in the Old Testament.

Demonism and spiritualism was everywhere. Deut. 32:16-17 tells us that the children of Israel provoked GOD to anger with worship of pagans and demons.

Wayne covered seven different scriptures in the OT and summarized. Satan is cunning and smart; he knows who to go to and how to attack. Satan questioned God’s authority and integrity in the OT and he is doing the same today. His first question was “Did God really say?” The same thing is happening in the churches today. Does the Bible really say? Is that what it really means?

Spiritual warfare is a battle for your heart. What voice are you going to listen to? Those who listen to the serpent’s voice are going to feel the serpent’s fangs.

Observations:
1. One thing we do not see is a lot of talk about satan and demons. It is actually minimized even though a demonic world surrounded them. It emphasizes on God.
2. We do see that angels and demons were at work but it focuses more on human responsibility … the problems of our heart. It maximizes human responsibility and sin is not shown as demonic warfare but the sin of the heart.

Conclusion:
1. God is sovereign; Satan is limited in power.
2. The primary human problem is sin.
3. Spiritual warfare is God centered. The answer is repent and turn from your old ways and turn to God.

We don’t see demons cast out in the OT. God is center stage.

Knowing God is in control, we should find joy in all things.

We closed with prayer requests and Wayne prayed.

He asked them if any of them have been fighting. He told them that they've been in some very long, hard fights, but if you think you've had to fight, wait until you get out. Are you ready for the fight?

Wayne, Julia and I went to MTC to hold the Sunday morning service. I played two songs on video praise and worship and then Stephen sang some praise music. After the praise and worship, . Wayne continued his series on Angels, Demons and Spiritual Warfare. Tonight’s discussion was on Demons.

He discussed that demons are angels who sinned and are now evil. They are beyond redemption unlike us. Hell is not prepared for man; however, we will go there if we make that choice. Demons will be tormented in hell and those who serve demons will be likened to them and will be tortured with them.

Satan was also an angel created by God – a cherubim. He is spiritual not physical. He is powerful but he is limited. He is limited in space and knowledge. He is not omnipresent and he knows his end is coming, but he doesn’t know when. In his desire to become like God, he is the perfect example of ungoldly. Pride was the foundation of his fall and pride is the core of sin. His name describes who he is … in Hebrew Satan means adversary.

Wayne discussed all of the characteristics of Satan, what he does, how he tempts, how he attacks, the differences between God and Satan, and how Satan and the demons relate to us. He closed by saying “when it comes to Satan, remember that he is limited and he is defeated. Satan wants the glory of God. He cannot steal the glory of God in heaven but he can steal the glory that is due God here on earth.

There was a lot of discussion and interaction.

We then practiced “The Chisel” and the guys loved it. We closed in prayer.

Wayne, Julia and I went to Macon TC for Sunday morning service. We had a great service with the 10 men who attended. The praise and worship was really good but then Stephen, one of the residents, sang a special. I asked him if he would take over the praise and worship when he is ready and he happily agreed.

Wayne brought the message on Salvation. He told them that so many different ideas are out there on salvation which makes this a difficult subject but we must know the truth. Martin Luther reached a truth about grace. Today the "grace message" in some realms has gone as far as to say you are "saved by grace" and that's all you need - you don't sin anymore so you can live how you want and you are "covered." Wayne said, "my goal for you is that when you stand before God you will not have excuses."

Wayne, Julia and I went to West Central to minister to 29 precious ladies. The video praise and worship was powerful and the Holy Spirit moved in an amazing way through the girls. Many came up front during the worship standing and kneeling before God weeping. After the praise and worship, I turned the service over to Wayne who brought the message on "Salvation" using text from Luke 13 and John 3.

What is a relationship with God? What does it mean to be "born again"? Wayne told the ladies that his goal is for them to have no excuse when they stand before God.

THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DONATE TO THIS MINISTRY!

Because of you we are able to take 75 bars of bath soap, 75 deodorant, 75 toothbrushes and 75 tubes of toothpaste to our indigents at Macon TC this weekend. So many of the incarcerated do not have any money on their books or anyone who cares about them. I know they did a crime that got them where they are, but they still need to take care of their hygiene. We have several indigents who come to our services and love God! God does change lives. He loves the incarcerated. He doesn't care about their past ... He cares about their future. Matthew 25:31-46

Wayne and Julia went down to MTC for the monthly Bible Study which is every 4th Saturday of each month. There were 9 men in the Bible Study. The men love to dig into the Word and discuss it. They sat down together opened their Bibles and started discussing questions the men had, problems they've been facing and studying the Bible together. Some of the topics they covered were the rich man and Lazarus from Luke 16 and they also discussed swept clean and empty from Luke 11. From there they went to many other scriptures and just "dug into the Word" together.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - June 28, 2014

Kevin and Pat Nicely went with me to West Central. We had 44 ladies in the room excited and ready for service. Praise and Worship was powerful as usual. I love the way the Holy Spirit moves during our worship services at WCITF. Around 14 ladies came up front in "waves" during praise and worship and knelt down before the King of kings praying and weeping. It was amazing!

Kevin ministered on "Help Is on the Way" taking text from Mark 5:1-6 about the man who lived in the tombs (dead place/graveyard).

Wayne, Julia and Kevin went to West Central to hold the service. I was sick and unable to go but have been told that it was an awesome service with 36 ladies in attendance. After video praise and worship, Kevin played a song "For Every Mountain." He then brought the message on Luke 15:11-24 (parable of lost son/daughter). The title of his message was "I Have Got to Go Home!"

Kevin held up an envelope. If this envelope had $100 in it and I stomped on it, what is it worth now? $100! You are still worth what you were when you were born. The devil will try to break you down; tell you that you are worthless. The devil came to kill, steal and destroy and he will destroy you if he can. The prodigal realized that he had to do something. He had to arise and go back to his father's home. He arose and took that first step. His father was waiting for him. God has been there all along waiting on YOU! You just have to take that first step.

Kevin prayed for all of the ladies who are scared to go home. Most of the ladies said they were scared.

Wayne and Kenny Nicely went to Macon TC to minister with the men. Since we hold two Sunday morning services down there, Wayne has started doing Bible Study on the fourth Saturday. The men love to dig into the Word and discuss it. They sat down together opened their Bibles and started discussing questions the men had, problems they've been facing and studying the Bible together. Some of the topics they covered were the Pool of Bethesda and what the church is supposed to be like. The men really enjoyed it and said they are looking forward to the next Saturday night in June. There were 10 men present and they closed in prayer for needs.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - May 24, 2014

Julia and I went to WCITF to minister to the ladies. We had 30 ladies in the service who worshiped God with the video praise and worship. After the praise and worship, I delivered the word on "The Father's Embrace." One thing all women have in common is that they need to be loved. Many women (especially incarcerated) did not have a good relationship with their earthly father and have difficulty seeing our Heavenly Father as a Father of Love.... they think He is "out to get them" every time they do something wrong. I based the message on the prodigal son but actually more on the loving father who represents our Heavenly Father. I showed them some things in the message that they never knew before that I learned from my Jewish friends about the culture of that day that really makes it more understandable how much God loves us! At the altar call, 27 women came up for prayer wanting to understand and know better the love of our Father and to have an intimate relationship with Him.

The response from the men was tremendous at the altar calls and at the end of the day when they kept thanking us for being there. Quite a few told us what a difference we had made but it wasn't us ... it was GOD using us! I KNOW that lives were changed and I only hope this day touched your lives as much as it touched mine!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - May 4, 2014

Wayne, Julia and I went to Macon TC for the Sunday morning service. One of the men opened in prayer and then we went into video praise and worship.

Wayne ministered on "Desperation in Prayer" taking his primary text from Luke 11:1-13. He actually took the men all the way through the book of Luke showing them the prayer life of Christ. He gave us the example of what our prayer life should be. Desperation for God should be at the center of everything in our life ... everything we do.

What was fundamental in the early church as for the most part become supplemental to the present day church. We can do NOTHING without God! We need to be desperate for Him. God in his Sovereignty designed prayer for communication and relationship with us to be a part of everything we do. He designed it in such a way that we have a part but HE gets the glory!

We spent the last 20 minutes or so discussing prayer, the Bible and other questions the men had. We then closed in prayer praying for their needs.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - May 3, 2014

It was a very exciting night because I had six of my team of seven that go to West Central. The ladies got excited when they saw all of us come in. We started out with prayer and video worship. It never ceases to amaze me how the ladies really get into worshipping their Lord!

Kevin brought the message on "It's Your Time Tonight.... But It's Up to You!" He took his text from Mark 10:46-52, Romans 10:17 and John 1:1, 14. He started out "Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? It's YOUR night!"

EASTER WEEKEND

It's Easter weekend and my son, his wife Julia and I will be spending our weekend ministering "behind the wire." Saturday we will be at West Central with the ladies and Sunday morning we will be at Macon TC. Please keep these services in your prayers that lives will be changed.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

We are getting ready to go to the Day of Breakthrough at Emanual PDC in Twin City, GA. We will be spending 6 hours in the yard ministering to these men as a group and one-on-one. These men are on their last step before going back out into the free world and return to society. I have worked with inmates enough to know that when they get to this point, many are full of fear of what they are going to do when they get on the outside. For many of them, their lives are in the balance. Not all inmates are hardened criminals but made very bad choices that had consequences. Is there anyone in here who has not made bad choices?? Please remember that it is not about where they have been, but where they are going. We want them to know that there is life after crime when they turn their life over to Christ! Read More...

ATTENTION PRAYER WARRIORS!

We need prayers! I have cut my volunteer list back to 21 volunteers removing over 30 volunteers. Some of these volunteers cannot go in on a regular basis but want to be involved as much as possible. Chaplain Darryl J. Ellis told me today that I can no longer get their IDs made at Hays since we are not able to be active in there right now due to the partial lock down they are still on. I can only have 7 volunteers in West Central and those IDs can be made there, but I have NO IDEA where I can get the orher IDs renewed. Please keep us in your prayers. It is really becoming a struggle to be a volunteer in the prison ministry, but God never said it would be easy. The devil is really trying to get me depressed but I'm not going to let him win!!! Please help me pray that things will change at Hays and they will add more services so we can get back in there and at least a few of my people can get their IDs made there. I was hoping that even though we aren't active at Hays, we do still help with Christmas, etc. and that would help us stay "active" there. PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY!

As you study, it is important to write down significant notes concerning who, what, where, when, why and how. What does the Word emphasize, repeat, connect, compare or contrast, and how does the Word communicate? They discussed the different genre of text and how to study them.

Wayne handed out handbooks to the residents and encouraged them to get into a study of the Word together.

THOUGHTS:
1. The closest some people will ever get to Jesus is through YOU.

2. Anything that takes your mind from Jesus is an enemy of God. Nothing and nobody should come before HIM!

3. Romans 12;1 - this is not a suggestion ... this is expected (my note)

4. Col. 1:22 - we are to be holy and blameless. It is a process.

5. Eph, 3:20-24 - All truth is in Jesus. You have to let all of the old nonsense go and be renewed in your mind (change the way you think).

There was one new soul for the kingdom of God - Praise God! All of the ladies raised their hands for prayer for the power of the Holy Spirit to work in them. It was an amazing service!!! Thank you, Lord!

Wayne and Julia went to Macon TC where Wayne continued his study on How to Study the Bible. So much is covered that it is very difficult to report on it but this lesson was on understanding their "home." You can look in Scripture and find passages that will justify anything you want it to justify so how do you know that you understand what the Word means? Two points to understand: The Bible communicates eternal content The content travels across time. But the meaning never changes - it always remains the same ORIGINAL intent - that’s key. If we ignore the context of the Bible, we can twist the Bible to mean all kinds of different things. If you want to know more, you'll have to contact Wayne on his series on "How to Study the Bible." The men have really been getting into it and there has been a lot of discussion.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Feb. 17, 2014

We opened up in prayer and then had video praise and worship. I turned the service over to Wayne who continued the series on "How to Study the Bible." Begin the steps....
1. What do I see?

A. Learn to listen: take the time to listen; listen thoughtfully; listen thoroughly; listen repeatedly; listen patiently; listen imaginatively; listen meditatively; listen purposely

B. Learn to look:
1. Is the verb past, present or future?
2. Is the verb imperative?
3. Is the verb active or passive?
4. Look at "space" (what is the whole of what is being talked about.
5. Look for a purpose statement.
6. Look for an order.
7. Look for exaggeration.
8. Look for Chiasm
9. Look for what the Word repeats.
10. Look for connectors (therefore, and, so, etc.)
11. Look for questions and answers.
12. Look for cause and effect.
13. Look for conditions (if, then)
14. Look for lists.

We ended up by getting in a circle and praying together.

If you are wondering what all of this means on studying the Bible and live in the Canton/Woodstock area, Wayne will be doing a 5 week class at Relevate Church starting April 7th on how to study the Bible.

Bottom line - forgive yourself.

Kevin spent a lot of time talking to them about who they join themselves to. Secondly, always be honest. If you're not willing to admit who you are, how can God help you? He also used the Scripture Romans 12:1-2. He finished up with "Drop the zero and get you a hero."

We got into a circle and prayer and we also ministered to several of the ladies. It was an awesome service. They are so happy that we are coming in every Saturday. Thank you, Lord!

CHANGES IN MINISTRY SCHEDULE

Starting in February, we have 3 services at Macon TC:
First Sunday and Third Sunday at 9:30 AM and fourth Saturday at 7 PM.

We will no longer be going to West Central ITF on the first two Mondays; HOWEVER, we will be going there EVERY Saturday evening for a 6:30 PM service.

I need team members to step up to help with these services. I would like to do a rotation schedule so everyone gets a chance and nobody gets burned out! God is opening more services for us and I am excited!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - January 19, 2014

Today was our first Sunday service at Macon TC. Kevin Humphery went down with Wayne and Julia. We have not done any "advertising" that we'd be there, but there were seven men in the service. Kevin ministered on "I Will Get Up" using the Scripture John 11:1-6, 20-16 which is the story of Lazarus. He used this story bringing it down to where the men live to get them ready for when they go home. He told them that they shouldn't expect it to be easy because it will actually be difficult. They were in darkness so long and then stepped into the light. They are about to go back into darkness. Jesus is standing outside the cave calling. When they get out, they have got to go toward that voice, heeding the voice. Find a good Bible based church to attend.

The last 35+ minutes was spent in a question and answer type session with Wayne and Kevin both answering questions.

We are looking forward to some great Sunday service discipling the men. Thank you, Lord!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - January 13, 2014

Kevin went with me down to West Central to minister to the ladies. We had 9 ladies in the service. This will be our last Monday to go. In February we will start going every Saturday night and we are so excited about it. I'm trying to put teams together to rotate so as not to burn anyone out.

We started with prayer and some video praise and worship. Then Kevin brought the message "Help Is On The Way." Scriptures were Mark 5:1-19; Mark 4:35-37 and Romans 12:1-2. Some of the points he made were Satan wants to get you to get your eyes to focus on the storm and not on Jesus. He knows you will be defeated if you don't keep your eyes on Jesus. If you want to change, it takes renewing of your mind. How bad do you want it?

We had one of the residents lay hands on each of the other ladies as we prayed for them at the end of the service. The Spirit was so sweet - we could really feel His Presence.

END OF YEAR DONATIONS!

There are a lot of exciting things coming up in 2014. Chaplain Ellis at Hays State Prison as told me that he'll give us at least one additional service at Hays in 2014. We are adding two Sunday services at Macon TC and services every Saturday night at West Central instead of the first two Mondays. We are also attempting to get services in a youth detention center. We are planning to do three Days of Breakthrough in 2014. All of this takes money. If you would like to make a last minute donation for your 2013 taxes, please go to our Contact Us page. You can pay through secure PayPal with either your PayPal account or a credit card. Thank you so much for your generosity and most of all for your prayers.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Dec. 28, 2013

We had a great time at Macon TC. There were 10 men in the service and 9 of them were new. A lot of our regulars have gone home and we are so happy for them. We opened up in prayer by one of the residents and then sang a couple of songs ("Breathe" and "Amazing Grace"). Wayne did a teaching on "We Can't Continue This Way." Some of the scriptures used were John 14:12; I John 5:3-5; Luke 9:57-62; Luke 14:26-27,33; Titus 2:11; I Cor. 10:1-7; and Ezekial 16:49 talking about Sodom and Gomorrah. He used an awesome illustration with a long rope with about 9 " at the end painted in red with the rest of the rope coming down and laying across the floor. What we do during the red time decides what we will be doing during the rest of the time; yet, we are so caught up in the red time (money, pleasure, family, habits, etc. etc.) that we never even think about the rest of the "rope" which is our eternity. Two men raised their hands to make a decision. We call came in a circle for prayer.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Julia and I drove down to Macon TC to see their Christmas program for family and friends. One of the residents who comes to our service invited us. Unfortunately the time got changed and he didn't have any way of notifying us. Instead of 7 PM, it started at 5:30 PM. We got there just as it was over. We were disappointed but it wasn't a total waste. Tony was so pleased that we came. He is getting out on Dec. 27th after 15 years of being incarcerated. He introduced us to another resident and encouraged him to come to our services. James and a couple of other guys may be our new "praise team." We also finally got to meet the new Superintendent. It was well worth the drive down there.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS 2013 - HAYS STATE PRISON - Dec. 13, 2013

What an awesome and blessed time we had helping to hand out Christmas Bags to God's children at Hays State Prison. Julia Smith, Tyler Bentley and Pat Nicely went with me. It was such a blessing and we are so grateful to Chaplain Darryl J. Ellis and the officers at Hays State Prison for giving us this opportunity! We were able to go to each building where the men are housed and hand them their bag and wish them Merry Christmas! Some were in locked down areas so we couldn’t shake their hand but did get to wish them Merry Christmas and let them know they weren’t forgotten. This has been a rough year at Hays State Prison and this was such a blessing to them and to us!

We also thank all of you who contributed items, money, and prayers to help to make this possible! God bless you!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - Dec. 9, 2013

Kevin was unable to go due to an emergency with his son. I thought I was going to have to cancel, but Wayne and Julia said they would go with me. We got to the facility a little before 6:30. A lot of changes are being made because there is new leadership. We were told that we probably could not take in our iPads which is where we keep our notes and our Bibles. One of the officers went back to talk to the new Superintendent about it and she came out asking us to go back into her office. We were back there for 1-1/2 hours but it was a very productive meeting. I am very encouraged about our ministry at West Central. By that time it was too late to minister to the women, so I will have to explain to them next month when we go. Please keep us in your prayers .... there could be some new opportunities for us at West Central. Praise God!

REPORT FOR OPERATION CHRISTMAS 2013

Thank you to everyone who gave this year for the inmates Christmas bags. We were able to send in over 1700 lip balm and Bic pens plus 120 lbs. of hard assorted candies to put in the Christmas bags for the men at Hays State Prison. Also, some dear friends, Yanni and Becky Yarufalie donated 2,000 paper lunch bags to put the "Christmas goodies" in to be handed out. We will be going up to Hays on Friday, Dec. 13th to hand out the bags to the inmates.

We were also able to give over 1,300 snack bags of assorted chips to Central State Prison and Macon Transitional Center.

I am thrilled to be able to do this as small as our ministry is. YOU made it possible. I don't want to name everyone who gave because I know I would forget someone, but THANK YOU and God bless you! If anyone else still wants to give, you can still go to our secure PayPal link and give by PayPal or credit card on our donate page. It was quite expensive to do all of this. We were able to do quite a bit with the monies already given and the contribution of actual goods, but we still charged about $750 on our credit card that has to be paid off. Any donations would be greatly appreciated! God bless you richly!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - Dec. 2, 2013

I would like to thank John and Patricia Davis of Freedom's Way Ministry for going into West Central in our absence. I was in a bad car accident about 1:00 in the afternoon and was unable to go and Kevin was sick in bed. The report I received is as follows: FWM had an amazing time with the 5 ladies who were present in the service. John Davis sang several songs with them about the blood of Jesus and then ministered on healing. The ladies asked questions and they looked up Scriptures together including Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8, and I Peter 2:24. They formed a circle at the end and prayed. Praise God for this great ministry and for them "stepping up to the plate" when Kevin and I were unable to be there. God bless you richly!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Nov. 23, 2013

Wayne, Julia and I went down to Macon TC for our monthly service. There were seven men in attendance (4 were new). Some of our regulars have gone home. One of the residents opened up in prayer and then Tony, another resident, led us in two songs "Fresh Anointing" and "Open the Floodgates of Heaven (Let It Rain)". Wayne started out by covering the different laws in the Bible. Everything God set into motion has always been about a relationship. There was a lot of discussion about what we should be as God's disciples and what the Church should be as we reasoned the Word together. We went right up until closing time, so we got into a circle and Wayne closed in prayer.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - Nov. 11, 2013

I would like to thank John and Patricia Davis of Freedom's Way Ministry for going into West Central in our absence for this service. The report I received is as follows:

FWM had an amazing time with the 22 ladies who attended the service. John Davis sang several songs and choruses and then delivered the message entitled "God Inside Minded" using Scriptures from I John 4:4, 2 Cor. 5:17, Psalms 91, Psalms 119, and Deut. 30:19. There was special prayer with the ladies at the end of the service.

Praise God for this great ministry and for them "stepping up to the plate" when Kevin and I were unable to be there. God bless you richly!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - Nov. 4, 2013

Kevin went with me to West Central. There was a lot of confusion with us getting in so the service started late. We had nine ladies in the service. Because it started late we went right into the message after we prayed with several ladies who are going through a lot right now.

Kevin ministered from Mark 9:17-24 on the Power of Faith. He didn't get to finish his message and said he'd continue next week. We got in a circle and prayed for the ladies again.

Warden Sanders retired and there is a new Superintendent in charge so a lot of changes going on. The girls and the staff really need our prayers.

DONATIONS NEEDED FOR OPERATION CHRISTMAS 2013

We have an urgent need for items to go into Christmas bags for the inmates at Hays State Prison in Trion, Georgia. This year we are donating Bic stick pens (non-retractable), unflavored “chapstick” and individually wrapped hard candies. There are 1,700 inmates and we have to supply enough for everyone. You can either donate by sending money through our secure PayPal link using your PayPal account or a credit card on our “Contact Us / Donate” page. Or you can send the items to our ministry address also located on that page. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Our deadline is Saturday, November 30, 2013.

We are also donating snack size bags of chips to be put in the Christmas bags for the inmates at Central State Prison and Macon Transitional Center in Macon, Georgia. There are 1,300 inmates and we have to supply enough for everyone. Our deadline for this donation is Saturday, December 7, 2013.

Let us show these inmates the love of Jesus! Remember what our Savior said when He was on earth .... when you do it to the least of one of these, you have done it to Him.

Thank you and God bless you!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Oct. 26, 2013

Wayne and Julia went to Macon Transitional Center to minister to the residents there. I was unable to go. While the men were coming in, a couple of them were discussing various topics of the Bible with Wayne. One asked about the prophecy teaching so Wayne opened with why prophecy is important to us.

Wayne explained that, with modern teaching of prophecy, the book of Revelation would be useless to all churches prior to a so called seven year tribulation and useless to the church once the seven year tribulation started. Therefore, the modern teaching of prophecy makes the book of Revelation, which God made sure to preserve for us, absolutely useless. Wayne then explained the relationship between the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation and how the prophecies were applicable for the past church, present church, and future church (if there is one).

DAY OF BREAKTHROUGH - Emanuel PDC, Twin City, GA - Oct. 19, 2013

We had another amazing Day of Breakthrough. Unlike last year where the Holy Spirit moved so freely from the very beginning, we met some resistance this year due to gang activity in the facility. But the Lord was not going to be stopped!!!! There were 130 men in the yard and we were thrilled. That was more than we’ve had there before.

We had quite a few new volunteers go in with us this year and every single one on my team did an outstanding job from setting up and tearing down to ministering on the yard with music, drama, amazing testimonies and preaching that was unbelievable!

Elijah Project Band joined us again this year and the men really enjoyed them. Read More...

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - OCT. 14, 2013

There were 16 ladies and we started out with several choruses. The ladies really got into the praise. Kevin continued with part two of "Suddenly is How God Works" using scriptures from Mark 22:22-24, Matt. 18:19-20, I Cor. 10:12-13, and Acts 16:16-32. Once again we had one salvation. We then got into a circle and had special prayer.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - OCT. 7, 2013

Once again God showed up and showed out! We had 19 ladies in the service. One of the ladies opened up with the Lord's Prayer. Then we sang "Enemy's Camp" and "I Give Myself Away." The ladies had their hands in the air and crying. Kevin preached on "Suddenly is How God Moves" and used Acts 2:1-4 for the text. He started out with "anytime you have faith, you have to also have patience. You pray, you cry, you wait, you pray, you cry, you wait, you pray, you cry, you wait and THEN .... one day .... SUDDENLY....

There was one salvation and all of the other ladies came up front for prayer to get closer to the Lord and have faith to wait.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Sept. 28, 2013

Wayne and Julia went to Macon TC. I stayed home to work on preparations for the Day of Breakthrough and to study. Wayne said that only 3 men came to the service. We are at that time of year where we have to compete with football and there was a big Georgia game going on. It's sad that something so temporal and will not help them in any way with their life outside of prison has to come before the life-changing Word of God. In spite of the game, Wayne said they had a great discussion on questions the men had about the Bible and spiritual matters.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Sept. 9, 2013

Kevin and I went to West Central where we had 9 ladies in the service. The Holy Spirit filled the room while we sang "I Give Myself Away" and women were crying. I ministered through the Holy Spirit and then turned it over to Kevin.

He preached about Jonah bringing it down to where we live. The Sermon was entitled .. Is it Right for You to be Angry? Scripture: Jonah 3:1-2; 3:9-10; 4:1-5

My notes would take up entirely too much room, but it was a timely message and well received. All of the ladies came up for prayer.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HAYS STATE PRISON

The Inmates are on modified lockdown at this present time. They are allowed to eat in the dinning hall and come out of their individual cells. We are praying this will be over soon and we’ll be allowed to go back in to minister. Please keep the staff and inmates at Hays State Prison in your prayers.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Sept. 2, 2013

We met in the library tonight and had 29 ladies in the service. We did not have equipment again since it is still not working properly, so we started out with "Enemy's Camp" and then sang "How He Loves." The Holy Spirit fell during the worship service again and started speaking through me again. I don't even remember what all was said but ladies started to cry and one lady handed me a note that she had written. The words the Lord gave me was directly to her (and others I am sure by the way they responded). Praise God for the anointing. I could have easily preached again this week, but once again turned it over to Kevin.

Kevin preached on Jeremiah 18:1-6 and his message was simply called "So." Other scriptures were Isaiah 6:4-8; 2 Cor. 5:17; Psalms 107:1-3. God uses things we can relate to in order to help us understand things we would not otherwise understand. He brought the message down to where they live. There were 5 salvations/rededications. Then we had special prayer. The officer came in because we were still praying and we had to stop. What an awesome night!!!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Aug. 24 2013

We opened up in prayer and with some praise and worship. None of my musicians were there so I played the keyboard. We had 8 men in the service. Wayne ministered on "Witnessing Made Simple - by Holy Scripture." He started out by telling his own story. Then he read Mark 5:1-21 about the demoniac of Gadarene who was possessed by a legion of demons. Because Jesus set this man free, he wanted to follow Him. But Jesus told him no and told him to go witness.

So often we don't feel qualified. This man did not learn Scriptures nor did he go through a program on how to witness. Jesus just told him to go tell his story. We ALL have a story. Witnessing is as simple as telling your story and what the Lord has done for you. Nobody can take that experience away from you and it is one that can reach others.

Discussion followed and then we circled for prayer. It was a great service.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Aug. 12, 2013

There were 12 ladies in the service and the anointing fell during praise and worship. I got so excited that it was all I could do to keep from preaching ... the Holy Spirit was speaking through me and the women were shouting. I had to turn it over to Kevin or he wouldn't have had the opportunity to do what he does best.

Kevin's message was on Good Ground and he brought it down to where they live. They were laughing and crying while the Spirit was moving. Scriptures used were Matt. 15:21-28; Matt. 13:3-9, 17-23; Romans 10:17; John 1:1, 14. The woman Kevin preached about was not Jewish but she heard about Jesus and believed He could meet her needs. If you need a miracle, it is in Jesus; if you need a blessing, it is in Jesus; if you need a healing it is in Jesus.

There was one salvation and all of the other ladies came up front for prayer! PRAISE GOD!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Aug. 5, 2013

What an awesome service we had. We were in the "big room" again and we had 10 ladies (3 new). Several of our ladies have gone home! We had trouble with the equipment (again) but Kevin had me play "That's My King" by the late Dr. S. M. Lockeridge in a sermon in Detroit in 1976. The ladies loved in. Then Kevin ministered on "Resurrecting a Life." Scriptures used were Col 2:13-15 and Eph 2:14-16. Jesus is the life and the resurrection. We had special prayer before we dismissed.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - July 27 2013

Due to an attack of vertigo, I was not able to go to Macon TC; however, my amazing team Wayne and Julia Smith went to minister. There were 8 men in the service. Several of our "regulars" have gone home, but we had 3 new residents in the service.

Wayne ministered on "Abiding in the Vine; What does it mean?" Using John 15:1-8 as the foundation to the message, Wayne joined the parables of "Swept Clean and Empty" (Matt 12:40-45), "The Sower" (Matt 13:22-23), and "Lazarus and the Rich Man" (Luke 16:19-31) to show what "abiding" means.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - July 8, 2013

We started out with prayer and video worship. There were 17 ladies in the service! Kevin ministered on "Just In Time." We have to understand what God's "just in time"

Scriptures: John 11:6-39*; 11:40-44
Hebrews 11:1; Daniel 3:17-18

Some of the points made:

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - July 1, 2013

We had seven ladies in the service. We sang a couple of songs and then I turned it over to Kevin who ministered on "I Am Not Who They Called Me." The main text was from Acts 1:7-8, but other Scriptures used were Acts 9:13,21; Hebrews 10:15-16; Hebrews 10:17-20; Isa 53:3-5; I Thess. 2:4-5; and Acts 9:1-21.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - June 22 2013

Julia and I went to Macon TC to minister. We had 10 men in the service (3 new ones). Several were at work and couldn't make it. Tony and Harry led praise and worship and each of them sang a solo. I ministered from Micah 7:7-8 "When I Fall, I Shall Arise." One man came up for salvation/rededication and all came up to make a deeper commitment. Tony and Harry closed with another special song and then we got into a circle and prayed. It was an awesome service. You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. They minister to us as much as we minister to them.

Wayne was not able to go tonight because he is "out on the road" and could not get home in time. The men missed him and asked about him. This is the first time he has missed since he and Julia started going to Macon TC with me last July.

We took 25 "Our Daily Bread" to the men since they requested them last month and they went "like hotcakes." We thought that would be plenty but we'll have to mail the rest of them.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - June 10, 2013

One of the residents opened in prayer. After video praise and worship, Kevin brought the word from John 3:1-8 entitled "The New Birth (Holy Spirit)".

Nicodemus asked what he had to do to inherit the kingdom. First he had to be born of water (from woman) and then born of the spirit (God). We've all been born by woman, but that still leaves being born of the spirit. Good people don't go to heaven .... saved people go to heaven.

He then read 1 John 5:4-7 and Acts 1:4-5, 8. With the Holy Spirit comes POWER. Acts 2:38-39 - repent means to go the other way. Other scriptures were Acts 10:44 and Acts 19:1-6.

God will give you everything you need, but you have to be willing to do it.

We prayed with all 11 ladies after the message for the Holy Spirit and power. Many of the women were weeping and broken. Two of the women were cold and indifferent. Please pray for these ladies even though you don't know names.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - June 3, 2013

After video praise and worship, Kevin ministered to the ladies from Daniel 3:13-18 on "Image Means Everything." He used the example of Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego. They went through a serious test. Just because everyone else does it, should you? They had their beliefs and values and put God first. They weren't going to bow because it was against God. It didn't matter what everyone else was doing. They believed that God would save them, but even if He didn't ..... they were not going to compromise.

Other Scriptures he used were Romans 10:5-7, Romans 8:29-31, and Romans 12:1-2. What kind of image do you want to portray? What kind of images do you want around you?

We closed the service by praying with the 8 ladies who were there. Several needed special prayer.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - May 25 2013

Wayne and Julia Smith went to Macon without me so I could be at my granddaughter's graduation. Wayne opened the service in prayer and a resident lead worship with a couple songs. There were 8 men in attendance.

The title of the message was Biblical Salvation vs. Salvation of Religion. Wayne explained that, in America, the professing Christian reads the Bible for an average of about 63 minutes a week. Yet, the average American see’s about 56 minutes per day of commercials and has hours in front of a screen per day. Therefore, the church is showing a love for the world more than a love for God. It’s because of a false teaching of salvation and a Christian walk.

Wayne asked, “If I were a sinner and asked, ‘How can I be saved?’ what would you say?” From that point there was a lot of discussion about salvation, grace, faith, and righteousness. One of the residents asked "when does a sin become a sin?" and that opened even more discussion.

They closed the service with prayer and special requests.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - May 13, 2013

Kevin and I went to West Central to minister to the ladies. After several attempts to have video worship with equipment that wouldn't cooperate, we went on with the service. There were 13 ladies in attendance.

Kevin ministered on Open My Eyes. Scriptures he used were Mark 10:46-52; Romans 13:11-12; and 2 Cor. 15:17. He used the account of Blind Bartemaus and brought it down to where the ladies live.

Blind Bartemaus saw his opportunity and was not going to let Jesus get away. He could not see but people could see him. We know that people are looking at us, but we don't see what they are seeing.

Blind Bartemaus would not give up. The "good church folks" around him tried to make him be quiet instead of encouraging him. Instead of listening, he got louder and louder and louder. He had a problem and he needed Jesus. He knew in his heart that Jesus could change him. He had faith. First of all, you have to believe that He can change you!

There were multitudes around Him and with all the talking and noise going on, He heard ONE! Jesus heard him and stopped ... He stood still and commanded him to be called. Now the same folks who tried to shut him up were now encouraging him ... be of good cheer; rise! He's calling ou.

No matter how you feel, you have to get up and be off good cheer. Cast off those beggar garments. He had to cast off his garments; Jesus didn't take them off for him. The Lord heals us but we have to do our part. He will help us but we have to do our part. We need to give up the things that bind us; we need to walk away from the things that tempt us; we need to put action to our prayers. Bartemaus didn't care what anybody thought - this was between him and Jesus. His faith made him whole. We have to put our own faith to our prayers.

There was one salvation and most of the ladies needed special prayer so Kevin and I both ministered to them. The presence of the Lord was definitely in the service! Praise God!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - May 6, 2013

Kevin and Jim Houchens went with me to West Central to minister to the ladies. After several attempts to have video worship with equipment that wouldn't cooperate, we went on with the service. There were 14 ladies in attendance. Jim is a minister friend of mine from Fort Lauderdale, Florida who comes through here twice a year on his ministry travels. Jim has a ministry called Traveling Mercies and travels throughout the United States and Canada with his travel trailer to reach the lost. He has a heart for prison ministry and loves to go in with me when he comes through Atlanta. Jim opened up the service by giving his testimony to the ladies and witnessing to them about the Lord. This was followed by Kevin bringing the Word entitled "Help is on the Way." His text was Mark 4:35-41; 5:1-7 which involved the account of the disciples crossing to the other side with Jesus asleep in the boat. A mighty storm came up and the disciples were afraid. The second part of the Scripture was concerning the demoniac of Gadarene. Kevin used both of these accounts from the Scriptures and brought them down to where the ladies "live." We closed with special prayer and all three of us ministered to the ladies individually. It was an awesome night and the Lord moved in the service.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Apr. 27 2013

Wayne and Julia went to Macon TC to hold our monthly service. I was not able to go. We had six men attend the service. One of the residents opened up in prayer and then Tony (one of the residents) played the keyboard and led the men in worship with "Amazing Grace" and one other song. Instead of continuing the study this month, Wayne led them in a question and answer session covering the last several months and any questions they had or topics they wanted to discuss. They closed with prayer requests and praying for the special needs of the men who were there. One of our regulars (Robert Fuller) was transferred to a medical facility. Please remember him in your prayers.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HAYS STATE PRISON

The Anger Management classes and church services at Hays State Prison have been cancelled until further notice. There were four murders in less than two months and two officers were also stabbed. They have been on lockdown since the second week in January. The Warden and some staff have been replaced. A lot of changes are taking place. PLEASE keep the inmates and the staff at Hays State Prison in your prayers!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Apr. 8, 2013

Kevin and I went to West Central tonight to minister to the ladies. We had video worship and the ladies really enjoyed it. There were 14 ladies in attendance. Kevin ministered on FWO = For Women Only. Scriptures he used were 2 Cor. 5:17, I Peer 3:1-5, and Prov. 31:10-31. If you want to be a wife, you need to work on the inside and become the woman God wants you to be. God’s man will find you.

One woman came up for salvation and the rest came up for prayer to be set free and be the Woman of God they are meant to be. The presence of the Lord was definitely in the service! Praise God!

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - Apr. 6, 2013

Ken and Melony Matteson went to Pickens County Jail for me because I had an engagement I could not get out of. They had a Bible Study planned, but it turned out to be a question and answer session with the six ladies who attended. The ladies really interacted and had a lot of questions. They closed in prayer for special needs.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Apr. 1, 2013

Gary Wright went with me to West Central. It was his first time to go with me to a prison service. GED was cancelled tonight so they gave us the big class room. I was really hopeful for a good turnout since class was cancelled, but unfortunately it was a beautiful evening and quite warm, so most of the inmates chose to go outside for yard call. We ended up with four in attendance. Gary played his guitar and sang some choruses with the ladies. He then gave his testimony and ministered from his heart. The ladies came up for prayer for needs they had and we ministered to them.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Mar. 23, 2013

Wayne, Julia and I went to Macon TC to hold our monthly service. We had ten men attend the service. One of the residents opened up in prayer and then we sang a few choruses. This was followed by two of the men doing a special for us while one of them played the keyboard. It was amazing!!!! I have asked them if they will do the praise and worship every month and they agreed.

Wayne ministered on “Symptoms of Laodicea.” The men were very engaged and asked questions. We read 2 Timothy 3:1-5,7 and compared it to the church today. We then read Mark 16:17-18 and Wayne pointed out that if these signs are not in our life, we definitely need to draw closer.

Then after reading Matt. 7:21-23, Wayne pointed out that 70% of Americans today call Him Lord. The people in this Scripture were having an Acts experience and STILL didn’t make it. How do we think we will?

Rev. 3: 15-17; 2 Cor. 13:5; 2 Cor. 10:12; Jeremiah 17:9
What do we do to measure ourselves? If all we have to do is “believe,” then why do we need to examine ourselves? The problem is we often examine ourselves compared to others instead of the Word.

God’s assessment of us: Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10; Isaiah 64:6; Isaiah 1:5-6

Most Christians watch 80 minutes of commercials a day and read less than 50 minutes of the Bible per week.

Ezekiel 36:24-26, 31; James 1:23-24
Is there anyone in society you feel you are better than? If there is, then you do NOT have a new heart. We need to look at ourself by looking at Christ.

We closed the service in prayer. One man came up for salvation and the others wanted a deeper walk with the Lord. We left there very excited. That was the first salvation we had seen at MTC and we were praising God for this new addition to The Kingdom!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Mar. 11, 2013

Kevin and I went to West Central for the second Monday service. It rained really hard on us all the way down and took us longer to get down there, but it was so worth it. We had 23 ladies in the service. Kevin ministered on “Holy Ground” using Matthew 15:21-28. He also read Mark 11:22-23. The theme of his message was first of all we need to have faith in God. Yes, we have to have faith, but it doesn’t stop there … you have to also believe.

No one came up for salvation, but they all asked for prayer for their families for salvation and to have the curse removed from their children so they don’t follow in their footsteps. They also prayed for complete freedom in their own life. It was an amazing service and the presence of the Lord was so heavy in that prison.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Mar. 4, 2013

Kevin and I went to West Central to hold the first Monday service. After opening up with prayer and some worship songs, Diana (one of the inmates) sang for us. Kevin then ministered on “Hope of Glory” from I Col. 1:16-28. We had 11 ladies in the service and all 11 answered the altar call. We then had special prayer for healing and other needs. It was a GLORIOUS night! Praise God!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Feb. 23, 2013

Wayne, Julia and I went to Macon TC to hold our monthly service. We had eight men attend the service. One of the residents opened up in prayer and then we sang a few choruses. I also asked one of the men to sing a special.

Wayne continued his prophesy series with “The Mark of the Beast” and the Sabbath since there were so many questions asked last month and such a deep interest. The men were very engaged and asked questions.

We closed the service in prayer and all eight men repeated a prayer for a deeper walk with the Lord.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Feb. 11, 2013

John Davis who has another ministry that goes into West Central took the service for me tonight. None of my team could go and it was very stormy outside so I did not want to drive the two hours down there by myself. However, I also did not want to cancel. John was very kind to tell me that he would take the service for me. He reported back that it went very well and he was well received. I know that it was an anointed service and I appreciate John filling in for us.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Feb. 4, 2013

Elizabeth Haney went with me to West Central to minister to the ladies. We started out with praise and worship and then Diana (one of the inmates) sang two songs for us. I did a praise dance to “Holy Ground” before ministering. The message was “When I Fall, I Shall Arise.” There were 11 ladies in attendance and every one of them came up front for prayer: one salvation and ten for a deeper walk with the Lord. Elizabeth Haney shared a message from her heart just before we prayed to end the service. We could really feel the presence of the Lord and it was an amazing night! Praise God!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Jan. 26, 2013

Wayne, Julia and I went to Macon TC to hold our monthly service. We had six men attend the service (one for the first time). One of the residents opened up in prayer and then we sang a few choruses. I also asked one of the men to sing a special and it was an amazing song that I had never heard before. It had such deep meaning. I wish I knew the title.

Wayne continued his prophesy series with “The Mark of the Beast.” The men were very engaged and asked questions. The new man who attended said he was going to bring more men with him next month. Wayne promised to delve deeper into the mark next month.

We closed the service in prayer and all six men repeated a prayer for a deeper walk with the Lord.

PLEASE PRAY!!!!

The Anger Management classes and church services at Hays State Prison have been cancelled until further notice. There has been three murders at Hays within a month’s period of time so they are on lock down indefinitely. PLEASE keep the inmates and the staff at Hays State Prison in your prayers!

ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES

We started up our 5th term of Anger Management classes at Hays State Prison. We have 23 inmates on the roster, but only eight showed up for the first class. We’ll see next week how many attend. That often happens for the first class. Please keep these classes in your prayers.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Jan. 14, 2013

Kevin and I went down to West Central to hold the service. There were 9 in attendance. After the opening prayer and a few horses, plus a special by one of the ladies, Pastor Kevin continued his sermon on “Change Your Mind.” His message included the following highlights:
Romans 12:1-2 - we have to be changed by the renewing of our mind
Romans 8:28-31 - Things work together for the good of those who are CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.
If God is for you, who can be against you?
Acts 17:11-12 - when you are ready for your life to change, get into the Scripture
2 Corinthians 8:12-15 - give to others according to how God has given to you.  What flows out of you from God will touch others.
We ended the service by praying with the ladies.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - Jan. 7, 2013

I turned the entire service over to Ms. Emily after we opened with prayer and sang “Enemy’s Camp.” GED was going on at the same time as well as the Recovery class, so we only had 4 in attendance.

Emily played a song "The Potter's House.”   Her message was "A Broken Vessel." She used multiple Scriptures including Genesis 2:7 and Genesis 1:26. She emphasized that we are a vessel to God -a place for Him to dwell. Additional Scriptures included Isaiah 64:8 and Psm 51:5. We were born into sin.  In order to change, we have to get on the Potter's wheel.  We need to bring our broken pieces to Him and He will make us over again. We prayed with all of the ladies at the end of the service. They told Emily that they really needed to hear what she had to say. Praise God!

HAYS STATE PRISON - Jan. 6, 2013

We had 34 come in to the church service. There would have been more but they were screening closely those who were attempting to come in due to an incident they had the night before. The men who were there were eagerly ready for whatever God had for them.

I had an inmate open in prayer and then “Big Mo” came up and lead the men in a few choruses. Then“Concrete” came up and did a song that he had written. Ms. Emily followed with a few songs while playing her tambourine.

Pastor Kevin followed with a sermon entitled “Forward.” He emphasized that now is the time to make the choice to go forward.
He used he following scriptures to emphasize several thoughts:
Matt 19:38 - take up your cross
Philippians 3:11-12 - saved but not there yet
Philippians 3:13-14 - forgetting the past
Acts 9:13-16 - people will look at your past but you must keep going forward and let go.

Eleven men came up for prayer. It was an awesome service! God is so good!!!

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - Jan. 5, 2013

In a previous service that day there was a disagreement.  The six ladies who came for service immediately wanted prayer.  Emily led them in a prayer for forgiveness and afterwards they asked each other for forgiveness. Emily played a song "The Potter's House" and then sang with her tambourine "Make Me All Over Again."   Her message was "A Broken Vessel." The hour went by so quickly that the officer came and told them to close. The officer gave them time to close in prayer.

HAPPY NEW YEARS

Dear Friends of Set Captives Free Ministries, As 2012 comes to a close and the New Year begins, we want to do more than just wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. We pray that our Saviour blesses you with a tangible sense of His presence, that you will walk in our Heavenly Father's blessing this year, and that the Holy Spirit lead you in an effective walk in God's Kingdom and in ministering to others. We pray that a true revival starts in each and every one of us...both in the "free" world and "behind the wire!"

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Dec. 22, 2012

Wayne and Julia went with me down to Macon TC. We sang a few Christmas carols while I played keyboard and then Wayne continue his teaching on "Prophesy, What Does It Mean For You." This month it was on “Grieving the Spirit.” All eight men came up and we got in a circle. They all wanted to have a recommitment or closer walk with the Lord, so we prayed together. Several of the men said how much they needed this message tonight and how they felt so much better after praying. We closed with one of the men singing a special “Lean on Me.” It was an awesome evening. Thank you Lord!

HOMELESS MINISTRY IN ATLANTA - Dec. 22, 2012

Wayne, Julia and I went downtown Atlanta to help two other ministries provide clothing, hygiene kits and food to “God’s children on the streets” for Christmas. We handed out hygiene bags with soap, razors, toothbrush, toothpaste, hats and chapstick. You had a part in this. Thank you for your help.

It was really cold and my heart goes out to God's children living on the streets and under the bridges ... especially the children! I know some choose to be there and live this way, but a lot of them do not. In this economy, they have just lost everything. Please keep the homeless community in your prayers and if you can do ANYTHING, please do not hesitate...a warm blanket, a hot meal, a pair of gloves, a scarf, a warm coat hanging in your closet because it has gotten too big or too small – ANY THING! God bless you!

HAYS STATE PRISON FAMILY DAY - Dec. 14, 2012

Elizabeth Haney and I were honored to be at Hays State Prison for Family Day and the ceremony for the men graduating from the Faith and Character-Based Program. We both received an award. Even though I will hang this award in my home and cherish it dearly, I want all of you to know that I feel this award actually belongs to all of you too. The men made these awards from paper and toilet paper and they are amazing! Thank you again everyone for your help to make Christmas special for these men at Hays State Prison. We will have two prisons next year to help with Christmas bags so we will be starting a lot earlier.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER (RSAT) - Dec. 10, 2012

Emily Williams, Elizabeth Haney and Kevin Humphery went with me to West Central. We had 16 ladies in the service. We started out with prayer and then sang some Christian Raggae which was a lot of fun ... enjoyed by all. Emily then led them in praise and worship.

Pastor Kevin then ministered the first part of "Changing Your Mind" using scriptures from PhillipIans 2:1-10, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, and Ephesians 6:10-18. One lady gave her life to the Lord and we prayed with eight for a closer walk and special needs. God is so good!

HAYS STATE PRISON - GIVING OUT CHRISTMAS BAGS - Dec. 7, 2012

Elizabeth Haney, Julia Smith and I went to Hays State Prison to help give out the Christmas bags to the inmates. Set Captives Free Ministries was able to donate 1,711 bars of bath soap to be put in the Christmas bags for the inmates. This is the first year we were able to help in handing out the bags and it was such a blessing!!! Thank you again everyone who contributed towards the bars of bath soap!!! God bless you!!!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER (RSAT) - Dec. 3, 2012

Elizabeth Haney went with me to West Central to minister to the ladies. There is another ministry now coming in the same time we do but we are not discouraged. If we help one inmate, it is worth the effort. We had six ladies in the service. I ministered to them about the Father's Love and all six wanted prayer to have a closer walk with the Lord ... to not just be saved but to have a relationship. Then Lil' E (Elizabeth Haney) shared some things on her heart about her walk and growth with the Lord. The ladies really related and accepted everything said by both of us. We then held hands in a circle and prayed. I prayed special prayers for two of the ladies. The Holy Spirit was just so sweet in that place! Thank you, Lord!

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - Dec. 1, 2012

Julia and I went to Pickens County to minister to the women. Our time has changed from 3:00 PM to 2:00 PM. I don't know if that made a difference, but only one woman came out. We still had a good service and prayed with her for her needs. If only one life is changed, it is worth it! Thank you, Lord!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Nov. 24, 2012

Wayne and Julia went with me down to Macon TC. We sang a few songs while I played keyboard and then Wayne continue his teaching on "Prophesy, What Does It Mean For You." Two of the seven men came up asking for a recommitment or closer walk with the Lord, so I had all of them come up, get in a circle, and pray together. We closed in group prayer for a closer walk and then I prayed for healing for two of the men. Before they left, they gave prayer requests to Julia for us to bring home an pray over. It was an awesome evening. Thank you Lord!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - November 12, 2012

Susan, Emily and Kevin went with me to West Central to minister. After introductions and opening in prayer, I asked one of the ladies to sing followed by Emily leading in praise and worship. We had 18 ladies in the service. Another church service (connected with the RSAT Program) has started on Monday nights also, so some of the ladies go to that service. After Emily sang, Kevin played a song on a CD and then followed with the Word. His message was "Woman, Thou Art Loosed" with his scripture coming from Luke 13:10-13. When he gave the altar call, every lady in the room came up for prayer. We had a chance to also minister to some of the ladies "one-on-one." After the prayer, we still had an hour (we started early), so we sang "Enemy's Camp" and then had a time for questions and a little Bible Study. Kevin then closed in prayer just before 8:30 PM. It was an amazing time. God showed up and showed out!!!!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - November 5, 2012

Susan and Emily went to West Central to hold the service. Emily sang several songs and then Susan played 2 songs on a CD, one being "Praise You in the Storm" by Casting Crowns. Susan ministered on "Finding Jesus in Your Storm" using the scriptures Matt 14 22-33 and Romans 8:28. They had time at the end to have a question and answer time.

Emily gave a testimony about her latest storm when blood pressure was high and she didnt know it. She only went to hospital because of blood in urine. Once she found out how high blood pressure was, she now looks back at this as God using the blood to get her to hospital because pressure was so high and how the bleeding stopped when she got there. She talked about the storms in our lives when we (like the disciples) don't recognize God because we get too caught up in what is going on around us. We need to worship God in the midst of our storms and not just when things are going our way. They closed by praying with the ladies. There were only 3 ladies in the service but they had a great time in the Lord!

HAYS STATE PRISON - November 4, 2012

Emily and Kevin went with me to Hays State Prison for our first Sunday of the month church service. There were 45 inmates in the service. After introductions and prayer, one of the inmates sang a special followed by Emily leading the men in praise and worship. Kevin ministered on "Faith" using scriptures from Hebrew 11:1; Romans 8:24. He pointed out to the men that hope is not seeing. He then used the story of blind Bartemaus from Mark 10:46-52. He challenged them to believe for something they could not see that only God could do. Do not leave here the same way that you came in. "Take off that coat!" Almost every man in the room came up for prayer! It was an amazing service!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Oct. 27, 2012

Wayne and Julia went with me down to Macon TC. We sang a few songs with CD and then Wayne continue his teaching on "Prophesy, What Does It Mean For You." Everyone was already a Christian, but the message tonight really touched them and everyone came up front to pray for a deeper walk with the Lord and to be what He wants us to be, We closed in group prayer for a closer walk and for the needs of the men.

DAY OF BREAKTHROUGH - Emanuel Probation Detention Center - Oct. 20, 2012

We had the most amazing, anointed, spirit-filled, life-changing day I have ever experienced! Every single one on my team did an outstanding job from setting up and tearing down to ministering on the yard with music, drama, amazing testimonies and preaching that was unbelievable! And everyone ministered one on one to the men including our youngest on the team who just turned 18! The entire day was POWERFUL!!! We had 118 men in the yard and they interacted with our ministry all day long. When the altar call was given at the end of the morning session, all but about 6 came up front for prayer … some of them running! I have never been in a service in the nine years I'm doing this where so many men were openly crying and didn't care who saw them. Even when they lined up to go in for count, there were men standing in the back of the lines weeping. The same thing happened in the afternoon session. It would take a long time to relate everything that happened yesterday, but these men were so hungry and they got a buffet to feast on! Thanks everyone on my team for your dedication and love for the Lord, without that, it would have been just another day on the yard! And thank you, who were not able to go, for your prayers!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATEMENT CENTER - October 8, 2012

Susan and Emily were not able to go with me tonight, so Elizabeth Haney said she'd go with me. We had a very small attendance tonight, but it was still awesome what God does. We sang a few worship songs and then I delivered a message on John 4 "Going to the Well" using the story of the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well and her encounter with Jesus... how she tried to fill the emptiness in her life with relationships until she met the One who could fill that void and make her life complete. Of course there was much more to it than I just told here, but all of the ladies came forward to return to their "First Love." Even though the attendance was very low tonight, Jesus went to ONE woman at the well to make a difference in her life! Right? We than had a time of prayer and the Lord had me minister to one lady and had me tell her things that there was no way I could have known. She broke down weeping and we prayed to set her free.Elizabeth Haney then gave a brief testimony about the way God has worked in her life and brought her through the death of her Mother just two days ago! God is SO AMAZING.

HAYS STATE PRISON - October 7, 2012

Kevin went with me to Hays State Prison and we had an awesome service. Ms Emily wasn't feeling well and was not able to go with us, so we didn't have any music planned. I asked one of the inmates to sing and then I sang and ministered to "What Sin?" Kevin brought the message from John 11 entitled "I Will Rise." The men really got involved in the message and 21 came forward wanting a deeper walk with the Lord. We received some testimonies afterwards about what God did in that service that I cannot put into print, but it was AMAZING!!!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - October 1, 2012

Kevin and Susan went with me down to West Central. We were late getting there because of a storm we went through, an accident that held up traffic for about an hour, etc. Even though we got there late, we started out with just 2 in the service because classes were still going on. They started asking questions immediately and we didn't even have music ... it was a Q&A time. When the other ladies came in, Kevin continued his message from last time from Colossians 1:16-27 on "Christ in You, the Hope of Glory." We closed by praying with the ladies.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - Seotenber 22, 2012

Wayne, Julia, and Emily went with me down to Macon TC. Emily ministered in song and Wayne continue his teaching on "Prophesy, What Does It Mean For You." Everyone was already a Christian so we closed in group prayer for the needs of the men.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT CENTER - September 10, 2012

Susan and Kevin went to West Central to minister. Emily and I were unable to go. There were 16 in attendance. Several of the inmates from West Central sang specials and Kevin ministered from Colossians 1:16-27 on "Christ in You, the Hope of Glory." Other scriptures he used were John 1:1-14, Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:20, and 2 Corinthians 5:17-18. The service was ended with all of the women coming up front, getting in a circle and praying together. The women interacted and responded in an amazing way and it was a great service.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATEMENT CENTER - September 3, 2012

Susan and Emily joined me tonight to go to West Central to minister. I was sick all the way down and had decided to let Susan and Emily handle the service tonight and I would just sit quietly in the background. When we got into the Library, there was a sign on the bulletin board that said “Set Captives Free Ministries every 1st and 2nd Mondays - Go Into the Enemy’s Camp Fellowship.” When Emily showed that to me, I got “fired up” and decided that we would sing “Enemy’s Camp” … something we used to do just about every service but had not done for a while. Seventeen ladies came into the room and we could feel the Spirit in the room from the beginning. We opened with introductions and prayer and then went into the “Enemy’s Camp” … the ladies really responded to it and we did “spiritual warfare” against the enemy. Then Emily led them in praise and worship. I felt led to do interpretive praise dance to “Holy Ground” and then one of the ladies sang a couple of specials. Susan delivered her message on “Four Things Hell Has that the Church Needs” using Luke 16 - the parable of the rich man and Lazarus as her Scripture. It was an anointed message and when the altar call was given, 13 of the ladies came up to rededicate their lives to the Lord. After they repeated the prayer, we played “Shake Heaven” on a CD and then Emily lead them in “Nobody Can Do Me Like Jesus.” We then got into a circle and several of the ladies as well as my team closed in prayer. It was an amazing night! Once again, God showed up and showed out!!! Praise God!

HAYS STATE PRISON - September 2, 2012

Kevin, Susan and Emily joined me tonight to go to Hays State Prison. When we got there, we were told that there was a shortage of staff due to several inmates being taken to the hospital and we would not be able to hold the church service. We were extremely disappointed because most of my Anger Management class told me they would be there as well as the Chaplain’s Aides. Fortunately this does not happen very often and a few setbacks will not deter us from doing what God has called us to do. Amen!

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - August 25, 2012

Wayne and Julia Smith, and Emily Williams went with me to Macon TC to minister. Emily ministered in music. Wayne did part 2 of a series on "Prophecy - What It Means for You." We only had 7 men in the service but you could tell that they are really getting into it. We had handouts so they could keep up with all of the scriptures and have notes to keep. They plan to bring others with them next month. We ended the service in a circle with all of us taking turns praying for the needs of others.

A SUCCESS STORY - August 19, 2012

One of my ladies who recently got out of the prison system came to church this morning and brought her two beautiful girls!!! What a blessing it was! I could give her a big ol' hug and not get in trouble! She was so faithful to the church service. She would be there even if nobody else was which did happen a couple of times in the beginning!!! She is so very special to me and I love her and her girls. I will post a picture as soon as I can.

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - August 18, 2012

Julia and I went to Pickens County Jail today to minister to the ladies. We had 5 ladies in the service. I ministered from Luke 15 on the Prodigal Son and the Lord brought out things I've never said before (like He always does!). When I gave the altar call, three of the ladies raised their hand that they didn't have a relationship with the Lord like they knew they should and they wanted to dedicate their life to Him. Then I asked all five of them to follow me in a prayer. One of the ladies asked some questions about some things that were bothering her. Once we ministered to her, we got in a circle and prayed for needs of the ladies and their families. The hour went by so quickly and it was amazing! Praise the Lord!!!!

ASSISTING THOSE IN NEED

Because of the help of our supporters, we were able to buy groceries today for a family in need. The family provider has been out of work for sometime and has just been able to start working again. The mother gives constantly to help her children even though they are grown and does without food herself. I met this family last weekend while doing Urban Missions in a trailer park and was able to minister to this family. Her one daughter was visiting from another state because of some serious illnesses with several of her siblings. She cried and asked if we could help her Mother just have a little food because her Mother has done so much to help her and her other siblings. We were able to do this as a result of your giving. Thank you and God bless you.

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - August 13, 2012

The RSAT program has started so we no longer get the large class room to hold our services. We are now holding our services in the library, which really works out quite well since the population is down right now. We had 7 inmates in the service and then when the RSAT meeting was over at 7:30, 2 probationers came in to join us. We did video praise and worship and they really enjoyed the songs. Then Emily lead them in some songs with her tambourine. Pastor Kevin brought a message entitled "How to Encourage Yourself" using I Samuel 30:1-10. Everyone needs encouragement but there are times when you need to encourage yourself; that is why Pastor Kevin brought this message from the Bible about David to where the ladies "live." Several ladies came up for prayer at the end of the service. The transition is going to be a little difficult, but our God is in control. Amen!

WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY - August 6, 2012

WOW! I don't know what other words to use! Pastor Lance Johnson was supposed to go preach tonight and, due to circumstances beyond his control, he was not able to go but I didn't find out until today. I have to admit that I "panicked" because I didn't have a message prepared! God let me know that He had it in control but I still "fretted" a little while. [embarrassed] He dropped into my spirit what to do so that is what I shared with Emily and Susan.

We got into the facility and only had 9 ladies in the service. (The population is currently 44 inmates and they are slowing bringing in the probationers which will be 138 when all have arrived). We opened up with one of the inmates praying and then went into video praise and worship followed by Emily leading them in a few songs with her tambourine. I had asked Emily to share her testimony which she did. Then Susan brought a short message on "Where is the Fruit." The ladies received both extremely well and were intently listening.

The Lord has impressed upon me earlier today to dance to "Alabaster Box." I said, "Lord, are you sure? I haven't done a praise dance to that song in about 4 years and I don't have time to practice." He didn't take that feeling away from me, so I did a praise dance as I felt lead. The ladies were crying and some even jumped to their feet when it was over. I was crying too! God ministered to ALL of us! Thank you, Lord! Then I gave part of my testimony and ministered to the ladies about their desire to be loved and cherished and what a treasure they are to God.

When I gave the altar call, every lady came up for prayer to make Jesus not just their Savior, but Lord of their life. We then had time to minister to three ladies (each one of us had one) for special needs in their life! What an amazing night!!! God showed up and showed out so magnificently!!! Praise God!!!

HAYS STATE PRISON - August 5, 2012

Pastor Kevin, Emily, Susan and I went to Hays to hold our first Sunday service. There were 52 inmates in the service. I asked for a volunteer from the population to open up in prayer and then Emily led the inmates in praise and worship. We were blessed by a special song by Inmate Lewis which was a blues spiritual. The men loved it ..... and so did we!!! I wanted him to sing again after the message but we had to leave early tonight because this is the Muslim month of Ramadan and they were coming in to have their service. Pastor Kevin preached from the 15th chapter of Luke. One man came forward for salvation! Praise God for that one that He left the 99 for! Amen!

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - August 4, 2012

Emily and I went to Pickens County to minister to the women. I opened in prayer and Emily sang a few songs before she began to minister on "Bondage." I tag teamed with her at one point as I felt lead to share something the Lord had shown me years ago that went right along with Emily's message. We had four young ladies in the room and they all said they were saved. One of the ladies was crying and we ministered to her and prayed with her for healing.

MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - July 28, 2012

Wayne and Julia Smith, and Emily Williams went with me to Macon TC to minister. Emily ministered in music. Wayne has started a series on "Prophecy - What It Means for You." We only had 5 men in the service, but they really got into it and said they plan to bring others with them next month. We ended the service in a circle with all of us taking turns praying for the needs of others.

FEEDING THE HOMELESS - July 14, 2012

What an amazing time we had downtown with Bishop Clifton Dawkins, Darryl Peek, the other volunteers and most of all God's precious children on the street. We fed several hundred people and then our DJ Darryl played music and did his ministry the way only Darryl can do! We feed their body and minister individually to feed their soul, then our friend Darryl gives them a smile, laughter, and makes them feel "carefree" for just a little while while the people from the street sing, dance, and even give encouraging words to each other about the Lord! I got out there and danced with them. Another man (DJ Wayne he calls himself) called me the dancing Mama. (BTW, he told me if I write about him on FB to not short him .... I am to call him DJ Wayne the Entertainer). LOL He really did add to the day to help make everyone feel good! It was an awesome day! Matt. 25:37-40 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

WEST CENTRAL RSAT - July 9, 2012

We had 25 inmates in the service tonight and it was an amazing service. The devil tried to cause some problems and upset the ladies in the beginning, but God had it in control. He defeated satan 2,000 years ago. We started out with some video praise and worship and the ladies really got into it. Then two of the ladies needed special prayer, so I stopped the service to get that done before we continued. Emily picked pack up with more music and played some special songs on the cd player that really touched their hearts. Just before Pastor Kevin preached, one of the inmates came up and "signed" to "My Redeemer Lives" by Nicole C. Mullins. It was so beautiful! Pastor Kevin preached on Luke 10 (The Good Samaritan) and really turned in around to reach them right where they live. The response they gave him during his message was heart touching. One got saved and 12 or 13 (it was difficult to count) desired prayer for healing of hurts and emotions. Praise God for the moving of the Holy Spirit.

I found out that the population is down to about 80 right now and there are even more being moved out tonight. However, when I talked with the Warden tonight he told me that they are getting ready to bring some in and get the population up again. This will be the first RSAT of this kind in the United States for women with a dual purpose of drug addiction and mental health.

WEST CENTRAL RSAT - July 2, 2012

We only had 11 inmates tonight. The cause is probably the extensive heat we are having and a lot of the inmates have outside details so they are exhausted. Also, count is down at West Central from 184 to 103 and one dorm is closed. We still had a great service tonight with Emily, Susan and myself ministering. Susan opened up in prayer followed by video praise and worship. Then Emily led the inmates in some additional praise and worship while singing and playing her tambourine. I ministered to the ladies on "The Father's Embrace" using the prodigal son out of Luke 5 as the basis for the message. Three ladies came up for prayer for a deeper commitment to the Lord and then I had all of them come up and hold hands while I ministered to them for healing of their emotions from childhood. We were given a praise report tonight. Last month Susan prayed with one of the inmates to be healed of Hep C. Tonight she told us that she had a blood test done a few days ago and it came back negative!!! Praise God! We know who the Great Physician is ... and He is still in the healing business!!!!

HAYS STATE PRISON - July 1, 2012

Pastor Kevin, Emily, and I went to Hays to hold the first Sunday service. There were 40 inmates in the service. I asked Pastor Kevin to open up in prayer and then Emily led the inmates in praise and worship. We were blessed by a special song by Inmate Lewis which was a blues spiritual. The men loved it ... not to mention so did we! I then did interpretive praise dance to "Holy Ground" followed by an awesome message by Pastor Kevin from the 5th chapter of Mark entitled "Don't Be Afraid ... Just Believe." He used the story of Jairus going to Jesus to ask him to heal his daughter who was dying, but was "pushed aside" by the woman with the issue of blood who was determined to get to Jesus and nothing was going to stop her. In the meantime Jairus is given a bad report that his daughter died (we need to be careful who we keep around us for companions) but he just had to believe because Jesus returned his daughter to him. Pastor Kevin brought the message down to where the men live and 18 men came up for prayer at the end of the service. Once prayer was finished, Inmate Lewis blessed us with another song and I closed in prayer. It was an amazing service ... Thank you, Jesus!!!

MACON TRANSITIONAL – June 23, 2012

Emily, Ken and Melony went to Macon TC tonight. There were ten men in attendance. Emily ministered in song. Ken and Melony tag-teamed and ministered on “I Don't Want Another Law to Keep; I Want a Life That Can Keep Me.” They prayed corporately with the men for special needs and encouragement and jobs for two of the men so they can get released.

HAYS STATE PRISON - Anger Management - June 20, 2012

We just completed our 3rd class at Hays State Prison for Anger Management. Out of 18 who were enrolled in the class, we had 12 to graduate today. That is the largest class we have had yet! This group of inmates were attentive and participated in the discussions. This was also the most challenging class we have had because they wouldn't accept just the curriculum ... they wanted things that actually related to prison life. This brought about some great discussions which sometimes made it a little difficult to stay on course, but it seemed to be what was needed for the majority of the inmates. Some great ideas came out of this class that I believe will help future classes. Thank you, Chaplain Darryl J. Ellis and Deputy Warden Dean for all you do to make this possible!

WEST CENTRAL RSAT - June 11, 2012

What a magnificent service! God showed up and showed out!!! Pastor Kevin and Susan joined me at West Central. We had 40 inmates in the service and over 2/3 of them were new. We started out by having one of the inmates open in prayer and then went into video praise and worship. This was followed by specials by two of the inmates, and three of the inmates ministered in dance. It was awesome! I asked them to close their eyes and get into a worshipful mood while I played two songs from a CD that was given to me at our Women’s Conference. The first song was “Through the Fire” by Jason Crabb and it was really touching them. The second song was also by Jason Crabb called “Sometimes I Cry.” This song “broke” them and got them totally prepared for Pastor Kevin’s message “Help is on the Way.” The Scriptures he used was Mark 5:1-6; 18-19. He brought it right down to where they live and the Holy Spirit moved mightily in the service. There were some women in the service who tried to be very hard, but the Holy Spirit softened them. Eleven women came up for salvation. Then the rest of the women came up for prayer of commitment and rededication. While Pastor Kevin and Susan were praying for those who needed special prayer, I allowed a few others to share in song and then one of the inmates had asked if they could close in prayer! What an amazing service!!!

WEST CENTRAL RSAT - June 4, 2012

The Georgia DOC has converted West Central to a 194-bed, nine-month female integrated treatment RSAT facility. Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) is a program for probationers and inmates. Offenders selected for this program are offenders nearing release, sentenced probationers, parole revocators and other court or GDC referred offenders who need intensive substance abuse treatment.

According to a study conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2006, 74% of state prisoners with mental disorders suffer from substance abuse nationwide. “The Department will be the first Corrections System in the nation to implement an integrated treatment facility for female offenders,” said Commissioner Owens. “RSAT Centers will provide our offenders with the tools necessary to make better choices,” said Commissioner Owens.

Emily Williams and Angie Brady went with me to West Central RSAT. Because of the changes being implemented right now, we only had 11 women in the service and half of them were new. We opened the service in prayer and then did video praise and worship, followed by Emily leading them in a few songs. One of the ladies sang a solo. This was Angie’s first time and she loved it. She ministered from Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She also used illustration of different women from the Bible who made mistakes or had things happen to them to show the women that each one of them have a PURPOSE!!! We had an amazing time in the Lord. All of the ladies came up for prayer except for one.

HAYS STATE PRISON - June 3

Pastor Kevin, Emily, and I went to Hays to hold the first Sunday service. There were 64 inmates in the service. Emily led the inmates in praise and worship. Then Pastor Kevin ministered from Judges 11 on Jephthah the Gileadite who was a mighty man of valor, but he was the son of a harlot. When his father Gilead's wife bore sons and they grew up, they drove Jephthah out told him he could have no part of his father’s inheritance because of who his Mother was. So Jephthah fled from his brothers and dwelt in the land of Tob; and worthless men banded together with Jephthah and went out raiding with him. Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor: This brave and notable man in Israel had a clouded pedigree. His mother was a harlot, a common heathen prostitute. Worthless men banded together with Jephthah and went out raiding with him: Jephthah wasn't necessarily the leader of a band of criminals. The term worthless men does not necessarily mean a bandit: "The word may, however, mean in this place poor persons, without property, and without employment" but they stood by him and supported him. Pastor Kevin brought this message down to where the men live! When he was finished, he gave an altar call and 3 men came up for salvation. Then 13 men came up for prayer for rededication or a deeper commitment. It was an amazing service!!! God moved as always!!!

WEST CENTRAL PRC - May 14, 2012

What a magnificent service! God showed up and showed out!!! Sadly we found out that this is the last service we'll have with many of these ladies at WCPRC. The facility is changing to a RSAT facility and many of the current inmates are being shipped out to other facilities. Since it was the last service we will have with many of them, we had to start out with our traditional song "Enemy's Camp." What a good time we had with it. Then we started the video praise and worship with +”Hallelujah Anyhow.” The Spirit of the Lord and the joy in the room was so heavy that I felt lead to stop the video after the first song and Emily lead the ladies in a couple of songs. Then we had a special by one of the inmates followed by one last worship song by Emily. One of the inmates also said some encouraging words to all of those getting transferred out of West Central this week. Pastor Kevin then delivered a message based on Blind Bartemaeous using the illustration of how he called out to Jesus and everyone around him was telling him to be quiet but he refused. He wanted his miracle. He then brought it down to where the ladies live. It had such an amazing impact that every single woman in the room came up for prayer. It was amazing! God is AMAZING! Praise God for changed lives!

WEST CENTRAL PRC - May 7, 2012

Elizabeth Haney and Jim Houchens went with me to WCPRC. We opened the service in prayer, followed by their favorite chorus to sing "Enemy's Camp." The 32 women in the service really got into the "interaction" of the song. We followed with video praise and worship. One of the inmates sang "The Garden" and another inmate played a CD of a song she wanted to share. Our guest minister was Rev. Jim Houchens from Ft. Lauderdale, FL who gave his testimony and incorporated it together with the story of Jonah. Some of the women got on their feet and applauded when he was finished. I believe his testimony really touched their hearts. I then gave an altar call. Four women came up for prayer to make Jesus not just their Savior but LORD of their lives. They wanted a deeper walk with the Lord than what they have had so far. I had Jim lead them in a prayer and then Elizabeth H. shared some things with them that God had put on her heart. The Spirit of the Lord was very sweet in the service tonight. We then had women come up for special prayer for healing, deliverance, and other special needs! I truly believe some lives were changed tonight! Praise God!

HAYS STATE PRISON - May 6, 2012

I took a team with me consisting of Pastor Kevin, Emily, Elizabeth H., and Jim Houchens from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. There were 52 inmates in the service. Emily led the inmates in the music service, followed by a testimony by Rev. Houchens. Pastor Kevin ministered on "Nothing Just Happens" using Scriptures from Genesis, Jonah and Matthew and using both Joseph and Jonah in his illustrations. Ten men came up for prayer and a deeper walk with the Lord. We prayed with one inmate for deliverance from the demons that were trying to oppress him. I know that God changed lives tonight! I can hardly wait to hear the good reports next month. Thank you for your prayers for Set Captives Free Ministries!

MACON TRANSITIONAL - April 28, 2012

Emily, Ken and Melony went to Macon TC tonight. There were nine men in attendance. Emily ministered in song. Also one of the men played keyboard and sang. Ken and Melony tag-teamed and ministered on “Identity Theft” giving examples on who in the Bible had their identity stolen, the ones who never lost their identity and the ones who reclaimed it, such as the prodigal son. The men were very engaged in the service and asked lots of questions. One man asked for prayer to help him to be a better father. He thought the Lord was angry with him and he was set free. They also prayed corporately with the men for encouragement and to know who they are in Christ.

WEST CENTRAL PRC - April 9, 2012

Kevin, Susan, Emily and I went to West Central and we had 55 in service. We started out with one of their favorite songs “Enemies Camp” and then did Video Praise and Worship followed by Emily ministering in song. The praise dance team ministered with two dances before Pastor Kevin brought the message. Every inmate in the room came up for prayer. It was an amazing service and the Holy Spirit was so heavy in the room!

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - April 7, 2012

Ken, Melony and Sam went to Pickens County for me to minister to the female inmates. There were nine ladies who attended. There was a lot of interaction between the team and the ladies during the ministry time.

WEST CENTRAL PRC - April 2, 2012

What an amazing time we had tonight. I took a great team with me tonight consisting of Susan, Emily, Joyce Cunningham, and Cudjoe Johnson (a pastor from Ghana, North Africa). We started out with “Enemy’s Camp” followed by a special song and testimony by Joyce. Then Emily sang several songs and ministered to the ladies. The West Central praise dance team ministered and had everyone in tears. When they finished, Pastor Johnson delivered a life-changing message that brought every inmate in the room to the front except for three. They were weeping before the Lord. I truly believe some lives were changed.

HAYS STATE PRISON - April 1, 2012

We had less men than normal because the weather was absolutely awesome and we are now on daylight's savings time. A lot of the inmates went out in the "yard" to play basketball, but we still had 50 in the service and 13 came front for prayer. We had an amazing time and God showed up just as He always does!!! Praise God!

MACON TRANSITIONAL - March 24, 2012

Emily, Ken and Melony went to Macon TC tonight. There were eight men in attendance. Emily ministered in song. Also one of the men played keyboard and sang. Ken and Melony tag-teamed ministering on “Take the Deal” using scriptures from Romans and Hebrews. They prayed corporately with the men for encouragement and to know who they are in Christ.

WEST CENTRAL PRC - March 12, 2012

Kevin, Susan, Emily and I went to West Central and we had 64 in service. I had laryngitis so Susan did all of the announcing and running the service and did an amazing job. We did Video Praise and Worship and then Emily ministered in song. The praise dance team ministered before Pastor Kevin brought the message. Every inmate but three came up for prayer. It was an amazing service and the Holy Spirit was so heavy in the room!

WEST CENTRAL PRC - March 5, 2012

What an amazing time we had tonight. We only had 34 in the service which is a smaller group than usual. We were told that a lot of them were sick. We had some difficulty with our sound equipment tonight so I had Emily start with some songs and her tambourine. Julia and I kept working on the sound system and Julia finally figured out what the problem was. YAY! After we did video praise and worship, two inmates did an interpretive dance. I usually ask them to dance every time we go because they are so anointed!!! I had asked Pete Smith, one of the pastors certified in our ministry, to preach tonight and he did an amazing job! All 34 ladies came up front for prayer to be set free from bondage in their life! I truly believe that some lives were changed tonight! Praise God!

HAYS STATE PRISON - March 4, 2012

Susan, Emily, Wanda, Kevin and I went to Hays to hold the monthly service. What an amazing service we had tonight! We had 67 men in the service. We opened in prayer and I had an inmate come up and lead in a praise song followed by Emily backed up by her inmate choir. Then Pastor Kevin delivered the message from John 11 about Lazarus and brought it down to where the men "live." Eight inmates came up for prayer at the end of the service. Some of the gang members who sit along the side started to act up at the beginning of the sermon, but something quieted them down and they were all listening. This is the first time this has happened. Thank you for your prayers! Pastor Kevin had a word of knowledge about an inmate's 14 year old son. He didn't know who it was for but gave some details. He asked the man to come up for prayer, but nobody moved, so Pastor Kevin prayed with the eight men who did come up. After the service a man came up and said that was his 14 year old son and told Pastor Kevin the situation. Pastor Kevin prayed with him for his son. I believe lives were changed tonight!!! Praise God.

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - March 3, 2012

Julia, Emily and I went to Pickens County Jail to minister to the female inmates. There were seven ladies who attended. I asked Emily to bring the message and she ministered on "Jesus is the Way." The Lord was dealing with several of them to give their lives to the Lord but they would not give in. Please keep these young women in your prayers. The Word has been sown. I am praying for laborers who will water and reap. Praise God!

MACON TRANSITIONAL - Feb. 25, 2012

Susan, Emily and I went to Macon TC tonight. It was a very interesting night. It amazes me how God works. We drove 2 hours to get to Macon TC and only had 6 men in the service. All three of us were very tired tonight, so I guess it made it easier for us to be discouraged over the small turnout (the smallest we've ever had). I told Susan that maybe we should stop driving down there with the cost of gas the way it is and encourage the Chaplain to get local teams to minister there. Emily ministered in music and I ministered on "The Whole Armor of God." At the end of the service I had the men come up and get in a circle with us to pray. After I asked for prayer requests, one of the men proceeded to tell us how much they appreciate us driving so far and look forward to our service every month. Then one of the other guys got tears in his eyes and told me that the message tonight was directly for him. He said, "I know you ladies get discouraged coming all the way down here and having only a few, but you are doing an amazing work and we really appreciate you. We need you." He said a few other things too that I cannot really recollect word for word. Susan looked over at me and I looked up towards the ceiling and said "Yes, Lord, I hear You. I knew God used these men to let us know that we are doing exactly what He wants us to do! Praise God!!!

WEST CENTRAL PRC - Feb. 13, 2012

Kevin and I went to West Central and we had 68 in service. We started out with one of their favorite songs “Enemies Camp” and then did Video Praise and Worship. Misty Dawn sang a special that was really beautiful. It was her last night at West Central because she is being transferred. The praise dance team ministered before Pastor Kevin brought the message. Every inmate but two came up for prayer. It was an amazing service and the Holy Spirit was so heavy in the room!

HOMELESS MINISTRY - Feb. 11, 2012

Wayne and Julia Smith (of Set Captives Free Ministries) went downtown to help feed God’s children on the streets. They also took coats, sweaters and sweatshirts, blankets, sleeping bags, toothbrushes and toothpaste to hand out. They first joined up with Pastor Clifton Dawkins and then joined up with 2nd Genesis Ministries out of White, GA. Between the two locations, approximately 350 people were ministered to which included a lot of couples and women. It was very cold and windy so they were surprised to see so many out from their “sheltered” places.

WEST CENTRAL PRC - Feb. 6, 2012

Emily, Susan, and I went to West Central to hold service. We started out with video praise and worship. One of the inmates (Liz) sang “On My Knees” which brought all of the women (and my team) to our feet! It was so beautiful! Emily then sang a couple of songs and brought the message on “The Infilling of the Holy Spirit.” I followed with a few more words and then an altar call. Out of 48 inmates, 34 came forward for prayer. It was an awesome service.

HAYS STATE PRISON - Feb. 5, 2012

Susan, Emily and I went to Hays State Prison to hold our church service. There were 66 inmates in the service in spite of Super Ball. Emily sang a couple of songs and some of the inmates “backed her up” so she had her own choir. I delivered the message on “The Father’s Heart” which came from the scripture on the Prodigal Son. One inmate came forward for prayer. I knew in my spirit there were more who needed to come front for prayer, so all of the men joined in with a corporate prayer.

PICKENS COUNTY JAIL - Feb. 4, 2012

Emily and I went to Pickens County Jail for our first monthly service to the female inmates. We had six women in the service. Emily sang a couple of songs with her tambourine and I ministered on “The Prodigal Son” bringing it down to where they live. We didn’t have any salvations but several did ask for special prayer.

MACON TRANSITION - Jan. 28, 2012

Emily and Ken joined me to minister at Macon TC. Emily led the praise and worship and Ken brought the message. We had an amazing service. Everyone in the room had already accepted Christ as their Savior, so I closed the service by having the men get into a circle and we prayed for needs. It was worth the 2-hour drive down there. God is so amazing!

WEST CENTRAL - Jan 9, 2012

We had 68 in service tonight. I started off by challenging them to “get their praise on” and to give God radical praise! I ministered to them briefly on praise and how much it means to God. We then went into video praise and they really got into it. Emily then sang some specials and the ladies really got into it with her. Misty Dawn and a new inmate (Liz) came up to sing a duet which was so anointed and gave us Holy Spirit goose-bumps. This was followed by the WCPRC praise dance team who danced to “Alabaster Box.” The Holy Spirit was so thick in that room you could feel His presence. Pastor Kevin preached and when he finished there were 66 inmates (all but 2) on their knees on the floor up front, down the aisle and in front of chairs just weeping and crying before the Lord. I have never seen anything quite like it!

WEST CENTRAL - Jan. 2, 2012

Emily, Elizabeth Haney, Susan, John Chivington and I went to West Central to hold service. Warden gave special permission for John to go in to give his testimony which we were very thankful for. We had 64 in the service. I opened up by leading them in “Enemy’s Camp” which always gets them fired up for praise and worship. After video worship, Emily sang, followed by Misty Dawn (one of the inmates) and then the West Central PRC praise dance team. It was an amazing service. John then gave his testimony mingled with some Word from the Bible. It was well received. I concluded by saying a few things myself and giving an altar call. We had 9 ladies come up for prayer to commit their lives to the Lord.

HAYS STATE PRISON - Jan. 1, 2012

Kevin, Susan, Emily and I went to Hays State Prison to hold our church service. There were 65 inmates in the service. The Warden allowed us to bring in our projector and computer to have video praise. He said it was just for this one time, but I’m praying he will allow it again. The men really enjoyed it. Emily sang a couple of songs and then Pastor Kevin brought the message. There were 11 inmates who came front for prayer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year from Set Captives Free Ministries! We wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2012 filled with God’s peace, joy, and blessings! May you know a relationship with our King of kings and Lord of lords like you have never known before! Jesus didn’t die so we could have religion. He died so we could have a deep, intimate, personal relationship with God. If you want to stay on track with God and keep a good attitude, you have to make communication with Him a daily priority.

CHRISTMAS FOR UNDERPRIVILEDGED CHILDREN

Thank you for making it possible for Set Captives Free to buy some toys for homeless and underprivileged children in Atlanta. This economy is not only hurting adults, but our little children as well. It would break your heart to see the children who do not have a home or nice toys to play with. God bless you for your kindness.

WEST CENTRAL - Dec. 12, 2011

We had 65 in service tonight. More came in but left after the West Central Praise Dance team danced because the Women of Wisdom were also there. We had a great service. Emily sang a few songs and then we had video praise followed by Misty Dawn singing a special. Pastor Kevin brought the message and just about every inmate in the room came forward for prayer and one came up for first time salvation. Praise God for the moving of the Holy Spirit!

WEST CENTRAL - Dec. 5, 2011

We had our service in the lunch room tonight with only 8 ladies present due to GED testing and movie night being scheduled (which usually is not on Monday night). Even though we were few, we had a great service. We had praise video and Emily sang a few songs. I minister on Micah 7:8 – When I fall, I shall arise. We had prayer afterwards. One of the ladies was able to talk about some things and get prayer for some issues that they might not have opened up about if we had a large group. Praise God that He knows exactly what is needed!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS 2011

We committed to give Hays State Prison toothbrushes for the inmates Christmas Bags. There are 1700 men housed at Hays SP and we were able to give 1,300+ toothbrushes. The Chaplain was thrilled. Another ministry gave the remaining amount so the toothbrushes are covered with a few left over for the indigent in 2012! Praise God! Thank you for giving!!!!

MACON TRANSITIONAL - Nov. 26, 2011

Susan, Emily and I went to Macon to hold the last service of 2011. Emily did an amazing job leading praise and worship. When she sang “My God is Real” several of the men stood to their feet. You could tell they were definitely moved by it. I sang “No Sin” and then gave the message on “The Father’s Embrace.” I had Emily close with another song. We had one man who did not want to come in and we “talked him into it.” He came up to me afterwards and told me that message was for him. Praise God! If it was just for that one, it made the evening worth it! We had an awesome time in the Lord.

WEST CENTRAL - Nov. 14, 2011

We had 86 in service and it was an amazing service. I felt led to have an inmate open in prayer, so one of the ladies volunteered immediately. Her prayer was a “mini-sermon” and was anointed. Ms. Emily started out with praise and worship and then we finished up with two songs via Video Praise. One of the inmates sang a special and then another inmate from the Praise Dance Team danced to “Redeemer.” It was so anointed. Then Misty Dawn (another inmate) sang “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” in a way only she can sing it. It brought the ladies in the room to their feet. It made it very easy for me to deliver the message on “The Father’s Embrace” from the text on the prodigal son. Around 30 ladies came front for prayer at the altar call.

WEST CENTRAL - Nov. 7, 2011

We had 38 in the service tonight due to some details being out late, etc. After praise and worship, Ms. Emily sang a couple of specials. The WCPRC choir sang and the praise dance team ministered. I ministered on “Fruit or Apple, I’m confused.” It was a message about how the devil tries to confuse us and some of the tactics he uses. We have to be aware of his tactics and be prepared in the Word. About 24 ladies came up for prayer afterwards. I praise God for the way He moves in the lives of people and uses the simplest things to change people’s lives!

HAYS STATE PRISON - Nov. 6, 2011

This was our first service in the main prison at Hays State Prison for men. Our team included Melony Matteson, Wanda Waters, Emily Williams, Susan Slaven, Elizabeth Smith and Kevin Humphery. Since this was our first service we kept it short and simple until we could get a feel of the way the service needs to go. Emily led in praise and worship and Pastor Kevin brought the message. We had 55 in attendance and 9 came front for prayer. We had an amazing service.

We later received an e-mail from a sister of one of the inmates. With her permission I am including her message: “Just a note to say thank you for visiting Hays Prison. My brother called last night and I have never heard such happiness in his voice in quite awhile. He enjoyed church so much and the great fellowship with all you guys. His name is Victor Ledbetter and he is a Christian and a wonderful man. Thank you again for the great blessing you were to him and I am sure many, many more and PLEASE go back whenever you can. Love, Donna Grant”

MACON TRANSITIONAL - Oct. 22, 2011

Emily, Ken and Melony held the service at Macon TC this month. Emily and Melony led praise and worship followed by a teaching "tag teamed" by Ken and Melony. I received an excellent report of the response and how the men interacted with the teaching on "Grace" and got very involved. It was a great evening of learning in the Lord!

WEST CENTRAL - Oct. 10, 2011

The room was full again to capacity and inmates were turned away! We need a bigger room! After praise and worship, Ms. Emily sang a couple of specials. The WCPRC choir sang, the praise dance team ministered, and Misty Dawn sang a special before Pastor Lance Johnson came to preach! I was not there because I had jury duty, but I was told that it was an amazing service and I really missed out!!! Praise God for His move of the Spirit at West Central.

DAY OF BREAKTHROUGH – October 8, 2011

Set Captives Free Ministries ministers in the yard at Emanuel TC in Twin City, GA with 30 volunteers. There were 110 detainees on the yard (1/3 of the population) which was a good turnout! It was an amazing day in the Lord and we know that lives were changed that day ... including our own. We were told later that the community around the facility also heard what was going on so we are claiming more souls for the Kingdom besides those in the facility! AMEN! You can see the pictures n our Pictures page.

WEST CENTRAL - Oct. 3, 2011

We had 86 women in the service! There would have been more but they had to turn them away because of restrictions by the Fire Marshall on the number of people allowed in the room. We did praise and worship and Ms. Emily sang a couple of special songs. The WCPRC choir sang, the praise dance team ministered, and Misty Dawn sang a special before Pastor Kevin Humphery came to preach! We had one salvation and then a long prayer line at the end of the service! It was an amazing time in the Lord!!!

HAYS STATE PRISON ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASS

We completed the 12 weeks of Anger Management and the inmates graduated on September 28th. We start a new class on Wednesday, November 2nd. Please keep us in your prayers.

WEST CENTRAL – Sept.12, 2011

What an amazing service at WCPRC! First of all we were allowed to take pictures and make a video of the service. That is God’s favor!!! That just doesn’t happen. We have been in revival since June and attendance has increased every time but there were 111 in this service! They brought chairs from all over until there were 104 chairs (not counting our chairs) and there were still 7 inmates standing. The WCPRC choir sang, the praise dance team ministered, Tonja Edwards read a beautiful poem that she wrote, and Misty Dawn sang a special before Bishop Lance Johnson came to preach! It would be impossible to explain how amazing the service was. If you look at our pictures section, you will see the pictures from this service.
