WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY – October 11, 2014

Kevin Humphery and I went to West Central to minister to 34 precious ladies. The video praise and worship was powerful and the Holy Spirit moved in an amazing way through the girls. Many came up front during the worship in "waves" during different songs and knelt before God weeping. After the praise and worship, I turned the service over to Kevin who ministered taking his text from Matthew 1:5-6. He has started a 3 part series on “For Women Only” and tonight’s message was “Learning How to Live With What You Can’t Live Down.”

Kevin went into the Genealogy of Jesus. Matthew is the only genealogy that mentions women. Boaz was the son of Rahab who was a harlot. She hid the Hebrew spies and God honored her by saving here household. Another women in Jesus’ genealogy is Bathsheba the wife of Uriah. Almost every time you find her mentioned in scripture it always has the “wife of Uriah” behind her name even when she was with King David. He told the ladies that when they go home, someone will always be trying to remind them of what they’ve done.

The things that stand out most in the study of King David and Bathsheba (the wife of Uriah) are first, they made a plan once she became pregnant to get her husband to come home and go to bed with her so he would think it was his child. The plan failed because of her husband’s loyalty to King David. Many of you made “super” plans but look where it got you. Then after King David had her husband killed, he married Bathsheba and they had a child. The Lord struck the child because of their sin. David pleaded with God but the child died. While he as pleading with God, he fasted and prayed. Once the child died, he arose, bathed and ate. He let go of the past and went forward. Men have a tendency to let go of the loss in the past, but women tend to hold on to the pain. If you hold on to the pain for whatever reason, it will keep you from going forward. You can’t go forward until you let go of the past. God did bless Bathsheba with another son who became the wisest king ever to live … King Solomon. Just because you’ve done something, doesn’t mean God isn’t going to use you.

Kevin asked the ladies who were ready to let go of the past and every lady in the room came up front for prayer. Praise God for the moving of the Holy Spirit. I am thankful for those lives that are truly being changed.
