MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER – September 21, 2014

Julia, Wayne and I held the Sunday morning service at Macon TC with the men. Attendance is down because so many of our regulars have gotten jobs and have to work on Sunday. We are praying for new men to come in. I played two songs on video praise and worship and then Stephen sang some praise songs. After the praise and worship, Wayne continued his series on Angels, Demons and Spiritual Warfare. This morning’s discussion was on Angels.

Wayne started out about telling our experience years ago when our VW bus broke down in the hills of West Virginia. A man came out of nowhere in the middle of the night on a road that we hadn’t seen another car for MILES!!! He took us into a small town, told us exactly who to see that would take care of us, gave us specific instructions filling us in on different aspects of this little country town. He dropped us off at a store that could get us in touch with the man who would fix our bus. He seemed to know everyone and all about them, but NOBODY knew who HE was. The family of the man who fixed our bus took Wayne and I in so we could rest since it would take most of the night. They replaced our engine very reasonably trusting us to send the balance of the money since we didn’t have very much on us. We were moving to California with no jobs waiting. We believe to this day that was an Angel.

There are 108 appearances in the Old Testament and 165 in the New Testament. We discussed what are angels, when were angels created, how many angels are there, how are angels organized, what do angels do, there are angels all around us.

Wayne gave three cautions about angels:
1. Avoid being tempted to worship angels (Col. 2:18-19; Rev. 19:10)
2. Avoid being tempted to pray to angels ((I Tim. 2:5)
3. Avoid being deceived by angels (2 Cor. 11:14-15)

There were a lot of questions and interaction with the men.

We closed by getting in a circle and all of the men individually prayed.
