Eternal Question: Are we born again? It is said that all we have to do is believe in Jesus. Many believe in Jesus who are not born again. It goes beyond an intellectual belief. Wayne pointed out in John 2:23-24 that they believed in Jesus but He did not entrust Himself to them.

What happens when we are born again?

A. GOD REVEALS HIMSELF TO US ...
1. New birth is necessary to know God
2. New birth is impossible without God
3. New birth is necessary to know God
4. New birth is dependent on God
He showed through Scripture that before the new birth we are morally evil, spiritually sick, slaves to sin, blinded to truth, lovers of darkness, children of wrath and spiritually dead.

B. GOD CHANGES OUR HEART (Ezekiel 36:24-27; Titus 3:3-5)
We must be born of water and Spirit. Water represents purification to the Jewish people in the Old Testament. When we are born of water and Spirit:
1. He cleanses us
2. He indwells us - He takes us from death to life and sets us on a new course.
3. He enables our belief (more than an intellectual knowledge - we turn from sin and trust in Christ)
4. God transforms our life. When we believe, there is an action behind it. He transforms us for our eternal good and He transforms us for HIS eternal glory. Our eternal good shows His eternal glory!

There was a discussion time afterwards and a time for prayer. A few men stayed afterwards to talk and ask questions.
