WEST CENTRAL INTEGRATED TREATMENT FACILITY – Feb. 7, 2015

Forty-six (46) amazing women joined Set Captives Free Ministries for worship. The praise during music was fabulous. Many ladies knelt and cried out to God and prayed for themselves and each other. Kevin Humphery and Sheila Stover were there to minister to them.

Kevin asked this question, "What will YOU do?" based on the parable of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37. A man asked Jesus how to "inherit eternal life." Jesus started by finding out what the man thought about the subject. Jesus always meets us where we are in our life's journey.

Kevin asked this question, "What will YOU do?" based on the parable of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37. A man asked Jesus how to "inherit eternal life." Jesus started by finding out what the man thought about the subject. Jesus always meets us where we are in our life's journey.

When the man correctly answered from scripture, Jesus agreed with him, but the man wanted to justify himself by his Bible knowledge. "Who is my neighbor?" asked the man prompting Jesus to answer with a parable. Jesus doesn't want us to prove how much we know about Him; instead He wants to be shown by our daily actions.

Kevin challenged all of us to choose the people hardest for us to love as "our neighbors." Kevin related the parable to the current lives of the listeners. When we leave God's will, we always move DOWN into sinful and dangerous territory. We are robbed of self-esteem, self-worth, trust, and place in our world. We are wounded by the people in our lives and must learn to give that pain to God for healing.

Church or "good" people may pass us by. Kevin cautioned us to connect with pastors that take the love of Jesus to "their neighbors" in their communities by reaching out to homeless, hungry, and abused. Present-day pastors and apostles often pass by people who are poor, hurting, addicted, and distraught. Jesus loved us and died for us when we were in the midst of OUR sins. However, God often sends us relief from the person and places we least expect. All God requires is a willingness to "go" when he commands it. Many times we can use our experiences to "mentor" others going through the same issues.

Four women came forward for salvation and many others came to pray for strength and guidance in their lives following Christ.
